Show and Tell-look at my jewelry and belt rack

I have had a mess on my hands with a jumble of necklaces and belts with no proper home {picture #1}. I have a couple of towel bars that were left behind in this house when we bought it and thought that they could be utitized to make some sort of holder {picture #2}.

I was thinking of finding "S" rings to slip over the rod and hang my stuff from those, adding tons of rings so that every necklace and belt could have it's own. A trip to Home Depot turned up nothing that would work. Almost abandoned my whole "green" idea, but thought I would give Ikea a try. Wall-a! . 10 rings for 99cents and a little cup that fits over the bar to hold bracelets-score,

Fantastic solution. I used to not have too many belts and I have a large ring they are on, now that I have more it's a struggle to get the one I need off, this could work well.

Thanks everyone! This has been on my "to do" list for quite some time. I am so happy to be able to check it off. I feel so good about all the new room for my jewelryI bought a new necklace today, teehee. Just need to get more rings from Ikea and I'm all set.

Great idea! I have a necklace holder but haven't figured out what to do with scarves and belts. This gives me some ideas.

So FAB! I also like the the towel rack ends can also hold items. Is this in your closet or displayed in your bedroom?

Thanks, AJ. This is hung in my walk in closet. It's up on a bank of wooden shelves that divides "his" from "hers".

But I should say, that I think it could work well in a visible area, too. I think the rack is rather cool looking and it is a bonus that there are a couple bigger hooks on either end.

I think this is a brilliant solution and I will have to try it myself. Just the other day I was frustrated because although I have jewellery boxes and the like, I have more than will fit in there (now granted, I should probably edit the lot, but haven't done so just yet).

I love this idea! A towel bar, and those hooks - *excellent*. Maybe, just maybe - I might be able to see (and find) all my belts and necklaces!

This has got to be one of the best YLF inventions ever - thank you so much for sharing

Yes! I've seen this idea and I loved it. The cup is a particularly smart idea.

I love jewelry storage displays that can function as decor, too. (Mine is a wooden tie rack with metal pegs on it to hang necklaces off of, over my dresser in my bedroom.)

Thanks, you lovely ladies! I have to say I'm so excited not to have to fight my jewelry and belts any longer. I was hesitant to buy any new belts or necklaces, glad to say the ban has been lifted! I think whats even better is that I'm inspired to use them when before they were just kind of lost, I couldn't really see what I had.

Absolutely brilliant! I have a huge collection of ideas on Pinterest but this is one of the best I have seen I am so much a believer in open, accessible storage for encouraging the wearing of our pretty things.

Thanks so much Christieanne and Joy! There are so many beautiful towel bars out there I'm sure you would be able to find something not only functional but decorative as well. That's what I liked about these bars, I thought they were too pretty to hide away. They are just in my closet but I see them from my bathroom as my closet door is always open and there they are!
