I just wrote a long post and accidentally deleted it, so here I go again

I revisited my yesterday's crime scene to get the spectator shoes you guys helped me decide on, and got few more things ( remember the frog...). I'd appreciate your input ( CRS, comments, whatever you prefer) on the three clothing items I got and two I'm considering.

7. Express micro-check pants. Sorry for the strange angle, they fit pretty well - no whiskers! The main dilemma is that they are made out of dressier rayon blend. Angie, could they still be worn for smart casual, maybe dressed down with a denim jacket?

Just for fun, I tried on jacket in classic Chanel collarless style (I am not even considering it). I'll leave it up to you to comment on this look.

I love the shoes and the tote--both are very YOU!

I really like the cream vest, but I'm not sure about the shirt you have it paired with. Do you plan to wear it with a button down? I think it would look really nice with a turtle neck--black or cream.

I like the black jacket, but it looks a little snug. But you said it's a knit--maybe that has something to do with it?

I liked the sweater dress (is that the same one Shiny wants in green?) I'm not sure about the plaid pants. One of the horizontal lines of the plaid lands right at the fullest part of your hip. I don't have an opinion on the Chanel style jacket--it's not you.

LOVE the shoes! I'm so glad you got them. You will get so much use out of them this fall. Definitely 10s! I also really like the purple bag and the cream vest...both 9s. The sweater is very nice, probably 8.5. I'm not sure about the knit jacket, it doesn't seem to fall right on you...maybe a little snug as Nicole mentioned.

As for the BR sweater dress, I don't think that color is the best for you based on the picture. I like the style and I will leave it to you to determine how the color actually looks on you (dressing room lighting is terrible!).

I think the plaid is too large on the pants (I thought microcheck was supposed to be very small?). They fit nicely but the pattern isn't the best.

The Chanel style jacket looks to "girly" to me for your style...what did you think?

The shoes and bag are especially "you." I have the knit blazer from Express--we can be twins! I had to go up a size, though, in order to avoid stretchy puckering. Did you find you had to do the same thing?

Where did you find the Chanelesque jacket? That's exactly the style I'm looking for. I wish it were black and white, but I'd be interested in trying the pink on.

Tanya - I loove the shoes and the bag! Those are fantastic. I also really like the cream vest. I'm not sure about the sweater and I also think the knit jacket is maybe a little small?

I really like the sweater dress - very pretty. I can't tell about the pants. I like the Chanel jacket, but I'm not sure it's 'you'. I think the color is really pretty it just depends on how you feel about it.

Hmm, I do not feel that the black knit blazer is too small. It does not pucker when I stand straight, and the next size up was a bit too loose. Maybe it fits snugger because it's knitted? Then again, maybe I am biased towards tighter fitting things as usual. I do not know what to do now. Ana, we can be twins indeed

The Chanel pink jacket is from Express too, they just got it. It's not me at all, I just tried it for fun and felt really strange in it.

The sweater dress is the same one Shiny wants in green. The one I tried on is petite size in order to make it short enough to work for jeans. I thought that I can wear that ( or any) shade of grey, but i could have been wrong.

The think about the plaid on the pants emphasizing my hips went unnoticed for me, thank you very much for pointing that out! maybe I was blinded by the fact that there were no whiskers.

I haven't yet figured out what to wear the cream vest over, but I thought that the button down with stripes would make sense. Maybe I was wrong.

I actually like the cream vest over the button down. I at least like the way you paired it with pearls and popped your collar. I'm going to give that a try next time.

Thanks for the tip on the jacket. I'll head over to Express sometime soon and try it on.

Tanya you did so well! Love the shoes, bag, vest (I love the way you paired it with the shirt too.) They all get 10's.

The Express sweater and jacket are both very nice, they are a little different than what you used to wear, or maybe it's because we haven't seen much of you in Fall clothes yet? I'd give both of them 9's.

The BR sweater dress is pretty, I love the collar a lot. The microcheck pants are fabulous! I'd definitely get them. I believe they will make smart casual with denim jacket but let's see what Angie says.

1 & 2. The bag and shoes are very you! I hope you satisfied your purple cravings at least a little. : )

3. I actually love this vest. I've been looking for something like this. I like it with the pink shirt (pink is my favorite color).

4. I love this too. Did you add the belt. If you did, it's absolutely perfect.

5. It's nice and a little funky. I don't know how easy it is to pull off this kind of blazer (I certainly can't!) but you and your tiny waist pull it off so well.

6. I love this dress. I wanted it for myself, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it on. I love grey and I think you can do grey just fine. I think it would look great with black tights and black or brown boots, too.

7. Not crazy about these. I'm not sure if it's the actual pants or if I just don't like the look in general. I'm trying to adjust my eyes to microchecks since Angie raves about them, but I don't know if I can.

Lissy, the sweater actually came with the belt, I am not that creative myself. But even if most of ladies here vote to return it and I do, I'll probably use the idea with my other sweaters, since I already have a similar thin belt of my own.

Tanya, I really like the Express microcheck pants because I thought they could be worn casual or dressy, but they didn't fit me well. I like the look of those on you. I also like the BR sweater dress. And all the other items that you got look great.

This might sound like a lazy answer, but I like ALL of them on you. (I'm such an enabler). Even the Chanel jacket. Yes, it's not your typical style.... but I am liking it on you anyway. I would probably prefer to see you wear it unbuttoned though.

But now you have me worried - the BR dress in green will probably be too long for me for skinnies, if that is the petite on you. I forget how long it was on me when I tried it on.

Do try the green if you can - did they have it in the store? The grey is like sweatshirt grey and I suspect it would work better on someone with darker hair, or silver hair.

Exciting stuff! Here’s my 2 cents:

1. Bag and shoes and WAISTCOAT – 10. KILLER.

2. Express belted jumper and tipped jacket – 9. I’d go up a size on the jacket perhaps? These are out of your box. LOVE that.

3. BR sweater dress is gorgeous. I’d give it an 8.

4. MACRO-check pants are adorable. So cheeky and cute. They get a 9. Also out of your box. I like to see that.

Shiny, I don't want to worry you The dress pictures is petite small. I checked online and the difference in length between petite and regular sizes is 1.5". It is actually a bit shorter on me than it appears on the photo, it is the same length as my brown Arden B shirtdress from my Sunday outfit in the last weekly post so I think that you should be fine. They did not have the green in this store (Copley Mall), but I do not lake that shade of green, I prefer more blue-based green. Well, if Angie confirms that I should stay away from that color, I guess I'll have to look for another sweater dress.

Oops, more posts as I was typing. Thank you for your CRS Angie. I guess that means that I won't be getting the BR sweater dress since I am shooting for 9 or higher. I'll try the jacket in next size up again, maybe i was mistaken about it being too loose, but it will have to wait for the weekend.

Ana, we must have been thinking the same about how to wear the jacket! I actually have turtlenecks just like that in both dark purple and light silver ( and teal), but mine are from H&M, much cheaper! I am also hoping to find a striped turtleneck like Express model was wearing it, but did not like the the Express striped turtlenecks, they had shiny thread and even more annoying big shiny embroidered crest. I love the golden yellow color for J Crew turtleneck for you.

Off-thread question but i've been dying to ask: how do you take pics from your phone and then upload? I know this is something I should know how to do.... but my phone is new and I am cell-phobic to begin with.

No problem Shiny, I send the photos as message to my email address. Then i download them to my computer from my email and the rest should be easy I think.

Does your phone plug into your computer at all Shiny? Mine plugs in via a USB cord. So I use Picasa (free picture management/editing tool) and import the pictures directly from my cell phone.

I love all your buys, especially the purple tote and the shoes! One thing is that having all the buttons done up on that sweater kind of makes you look kind "strapped in". I like it though, maybe with a different shirt underneath. Love everything and hope you do too.

I have a manual for my new cell phone - it's intimidatingly thick. I will drag it out and see what it says. I also need how to figure out how to get the bluetooth/hands-free feature to work through my GPS.

Anyway.... I love how people take photos in the dressing room to post here for comment on whether to buy/not buy! I have often thought, hmm.... wouldn't it be cool if we could somehow send such photos directly and immediately to YLF forum - while still in the dressing room- and get text messages back saying "Yes - buy it" or "No - you can do better."

How's that for a challenge for Greg? Hee hee.
