shoe opinions?

Since I've only ever worn sneakers (not work) or loafers (work), I'm a little new to the fashionable shoe scene. I'm at a bit of a loss for winter shoe wear. Flats are going to be too open to the snow, right? And I bought the booties from NAS that Angie blogged about, but I can't really wear 2.5" heels every day, and chasing around the kids. So long story short, I'm not sure what direction to go in. I did find these on the J Crew site, and miracle of miracles they are in my size!

What do you all think? Also, are ALL sale items final on the J.Crew site? Or is it only the ones marked "final sale" on the product descriptions?

Those are nice, Taffy. I don't know about sales being final on J Crew. You could call customer service and ask just to be on the safe side.

During the winter, I wear flats indoors, to chase the kiddos, or fashion sneakers. You could try some of those. What about mid-calf or above the ankle boots with a low heel?

Thanks Dani...I really liked those first boots, I'll look into something like that. They often look quite different on size 11 feet, than smaller ones...so I'll try to find something similar to try on first.

As for the fashion sneakers, I like them, but what type of top would you wear them with? I would lean toward a T-shirt, which I know is not very smart casual.
Thanks for all the help! Putting together smart casual outfits is much harder for me than work wear!

I like the shoes you posted. I'm a fan of buckles.

I'm 90-something percent sure that when you order sale items off JCrew, the sale is final. Actually, that is true in store as well for JCrew.

I bought suede flats from JCrew before only to have them majorly stretch within only a few months. They were unwearable. I haven't bought shoes from them since, even though I love their styles. I'm still sad about those pink suede shoes.

REALLY like the mocs you posted! Versatile, a great colour, good for dark-rinse jeans especially, and as a mom as well, I like the practicality of them. I want some myself! I'd say go for it.

Taffy, try the shoe advantage website. I go to their physical store here in Seattle and they often have comfortable and stylish fashion sneakers and other shoes.

Yeah, J. Crew online is in final sale mode right now, but not all items might be final sale. I'd call customer service and ask them. It looks like the shoes aren't available in stores.
