love the doc martens and giraffe flats! the plaid ones are cute, but the construction gives off a slightly 'clunky' vibe, IMHO. who knows, it may look great in person and super comfy!

don't know much about ankle boots (i prefer the doc martens jenna knee high boot, and ordered it thanks to YLF!), but they look totally fun, especially with the mock buttons and contrast stitching. cool plum color and fun heel too.

what do you imagine yourself wearing with these fun shoes?

Boots and giraffe print are *super* cute. I like the plaid on the other pair, but I'm a little concerned about the thicker sole. In the picture it doesn't look that great to me but maybe they are better in person?

The ankle boots bring up a question I have about cooler weather shoes. In warmer climates like our what is a good option for colder weather shoes (casual and dressy). It's just not practical to go around with jeans tucked into boots all the time because 1. more than one pair for tucking is not practical for a warm climate 2. if we did wear them all the time it would be a lot of variety on bottom.

For sure the boots, then the giraffe print. I don't care for the plaid pair. Doc Martens have sure changed. I might have to take a closer look at them.

I had pictured the plaid shoes with bootcuts to add some color to grey and cream sweaters. I lived in my Doc Martens in the early 90's. They were so comfy.

Patience, I don't know the answer to your question. I am planning to purchase a pair of knee-high boots for skirts and dresses this fall. Since our climate is pretty mild and not very wet, I will probably spend my money on ankle and calf high boots rather than another pair of knee-high to tuck jeans into.

I'm not sure I quite understand the second part of your question about the variety of looks. Are you saying it would be too many different looks?

The ankle boots are great. I especially like the color, the heels and the fact that they are probably very comfy. The plaid pair look comfortable, practical for walking on wet pavement, and should be really cute with your boot cuts.
The giraffe print is fun!

Like the others, I favor the booties and the giraffe! There is something a bit clunky about the plaid pair, but if that is your style then I think they could be fun!

Love the ankle boots and giraffe flats. Like the others have said, I think the plain flats would be cute if the sole weren't quite so thick. But you are very tall, and it might not look so thick on you. Free shipping and returns, what do you have to lose?

Is it because the sole is black that the shoe looks too thick? Are Doc Martens traditional style too clunky? I'm confused because Angie has the pair of knee-high Docs that were in a blog post not too long ago.

I hear you, Dani. The heel on the 20 eyelet Doc Marten is not trying to look pretty. It’s a retro workers boot. The tartan Doc is trying to be a pretty ballet flat, but the clunky heel isn’t pretty. Does that make sense?
