Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Retro jacket

I picked up this jacket which is a new style for me and I have a couple of concerns. I hope it's enough "retro" that it won't look outdated next year. I am also not sure about the back view, my back is quite broad and I feel insecure about the peplum detail. What do you think?
I took pics outside so that the details would show but it was hard to get an unobstructed view.

I think it looks great Marianna. I really like the style. Fits perfectly and does not look wide or off at the back at all, atleast to me :-)

Unfortunately my monitor is crappy and I can't make out the details of your jacket, but from what I can see, it fits really well around shoulders and back. And I don't notice your back looking particularly broad! It's cute, and I think you will be able to wear it next year.

Thank you ladies! I always have a ton of reservations about any new style... which is why I rarely tried them before YLF.

Very cute! I like how it fits you and I think you'll get a lot of use out of it. Hope you decide to keep it!

I don't think it will go out of style, nor do I think the peplum is an issue. It looks great.

I can't make out the peplum detail but since the fit is good and the color is such a neutral, I can't imagine it being out of style soon.

KILLER. And the sleeves are long enough :0)

No doubts, Marianne. You wear this style beautifully and it’s definitely retro enough. I am still sporting similar styles and shan’t be stopping any time soon. Enjoy!

Thank you, I am glad you think it works!
Angie, yes, the sleeves fit - it is from Benetton, which is one of my places to look for length. It also came in mustard-y color, which I noticed first because it looked very Angie :)

*chuckle*

I shop at Benetton for sleeve length too, Marianne! These gorilla arms of mine.

I have had my body in that citron jacket MANY times. You are good! It’s 100% my colour and style, and fits perfectly. But I was on my YLF shopping ban (accessories only – remember that?) when I REALLY wanted it. And now I’ve got so many new frocks that I feel I don’t need another Spring jacket especially since the NAS sale is in a few weeks – our dominant season. But I get to enjoy the style on you instead :0)

They were down to $37. But I completely understand about the priorities. :)
So you'd call that yellow "citron", Angie? I am a little fuzzy on the color nomenclature, so it's good to know.

Very cute!!!
I wonder how it would look with a scarf inside and unbuttoned. I have no idea what you are talking about with your back, you are beautiful!!

Thank you GG! I'll try that - I was actually thinking that I would probably end up wearing it unbuttoned. It looks more trapeze-like that way, which I like. And you're right, it needs a scarf to break up the darkness :)

Very cute jacket! Looks great on you too.
