Redbook Wardrobe Remix for Spring

I have been perusing this most recent Redbook remix article:

and realize I have similar pieces to recreate most of these outfits. I would like to find a pair of floral slim pants, but need NO other clothes to make this Spring wardrobe possible. These are such good exercises for me; I find things lurking in my closet that are all but forgotten but still very appropriate for creating some fun outfits.

I did purchase the lemon colored jacket from Kohls. It was on super clearance and I thought it would be fun to see how this would work with my things. I have a very casual life and the casual vibe and fun color seemed like a good idea. And it seems you can never have too many jackets where I live.

Very chic, and I love inspiration that results in such creative energy! My favorites are #1 and #6.

These are always so fun to look at! (I have since learned less fun, for me, to do - ha ha). I think it's a great spring piece to play with.

Thanks, Beth Ann and Mo. IKWYM, Mo, I am always sucked into playing in my closet after that issue comes out when I have way to many other things I should be doing. It did make me put the brakes on for buying more stuff, however, and that is a good thing.

This is great Carole! What a fun color for spring and a jacket is a great way to try it (as opposed to the lemony colored pants I tried at the Gap!) I especially love it with black and the black/white stripes. SO cute!

how many ways to wear a yellow jacket. never would have thought a yellow jacket is so versatile. like sarah, prefer with pants...esp the royal blue. so spring.

I love yellow for spring, and this looks great on you. I really like that the sleeves are shorter, and the stripes peek out a bit. Also love the yellow paired with blue, and I would never have known it went so well with red. Great job remixing!

Fun new jacket! And I like that it has shorter sleeves because the layering with stripes peeking out from underneath is really clever.

I really like all of these except for #3 - the belt and the neckline of the shirt under the dress seem like too much going on to me. I LOVE #4 though.

I think I need to try yellow! It seems to go with so much, and it's such a happy color, like my beloved orange.

Such fun! You look great Carole! You could also wear the striped top with the red skirt and blue pants. The blouse in 5 could go with the other bottoms as well. You might not want to wear the lemon jacket with the red or blue bottoms, but I'm sure you have another topper in that fab closet of yours, like a denim jacket or a vest of some sort? I love your new jacket and I'm always amazed at how a colored jacket can completely invigorate a wardrobe. Good work!

It was fun to look through the RedBook ideas. The scarf-as-belt looks reminded me of doing that in... Was it the 80's? I can see the possibilities of floral sandals.

Ingunn-Yay, I can't wait to see your interpretations. I thought of you when doing this and your beautiful and organized capsule pictures; what an exhaustive exercise. I could have spent several more hours creating a bizillion outfit combinations!

Cinnamon Fern-I agree about 3, a little too much, yes. The color is sort of celery, or lemon/yellow and easier to wear than I would have thought.

Claire-Thanks for the ideas. Yes, there are so many other possibilities, it's amazing how a jacket with some color can spark some creativity. I was going to try to recreate the other outfits, but gave up and just focused on the jacket. Will save that for another day.

Joy-Thanks, I always get some new ideas for some old wardrobe favorites from these articles. I love the scarf as belt idea, too. Must give that a try.
