Raise Your Hand if You're Ready for Fall Weather!

I know that I have seen several people say this on threads lately- I'm ready for fall weather!
It *is* cooling down here (Southern California desert), but what that means at the moment is that when I get up in the morning it is in the 50's, and by afternoon it is near 100. Having to wear sweats to bed when it is still this hot in the daytime feels absurd. I know that it's coming, and I will bemoan the cold weather shortly after it's arrival; but right now I just want it to feel like fall! I can't even wear closed toe shoes yet.
What's your weather like right now (and where are you)?

Me me me!! I love fall.
It's hovering around 75-80 as a high here, but we've had rain the past two days and I'm loving it.
It is a challenge that it's in the 60s when I leave for work, but the 80s when I get off.

While I love Autumn clothes, I hate Autumn and Winter weather as my city is quite rainy and miserable from mid-October to mid-March. At the moment, it is 59F and this has been an oddly warm and sunny September here.

We have a crazy 85 degree day today and it was 88 yesterday. Very atypical for Seattle at this time of year. But by tomorrow its back to 65 to 70 as day time highs. It’s cool in the morning and at night – 50’s. Last week we had beautiful 60 to 65 degree days. PERFECT Seattle Autumn weather. Boot weather! It is so, so, so beautiful out here at this time of year – right up until November before it rains and snows for 6 months. I’m inviting you all over!

I wilt in spring and summer. Bring on fall. I hope I get a break jobwise since this is the time of year when I want to shop most! Today there's a little bump in the road with 80 degree weather, but that's normal. Early fall is a little hard to predict.

I'm going to a chili pepper festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens next week and I can't WAIT.

I am definitely ready. To tell the truth, we haven't had much of real summer in Boston, it was more like late spring/early fall anyway. Right now it is still warm during the day, but quite chilly in the mornings and evenings.

Looking forward to wearing my purples, teals, corduroy and suede, velvet... Fall is my favorite season fashion-wise, but not weather-wise. But, for the first time,I am ready for the rains, I ahve wellies and a rain hat, so at least I should stay dry :)

I am definitely ready for fall weather. Here in South Georgia, the lows are still in the 70's while the daytime highs get close to 90 degrees. We've been blessed with rain over the last few days which has helped to cool things down, but I am still longing for cooler weather.

I thought I was ready for fall weather - then we suddenly went from highs in the upper 80s to highs in the 50s (!) a couple days ago. Now I'm freezing! I want a bit more time to adjust.

Yes! It's the Midwest, for crying out loud, and I'm still wearing sandals in late September. I really want to get my money's worth out of my corduroy and sweaters and ankle boots!

I am ready! I want to wear jackets and scarves! It's been in the mid 70s here, but a lot cooler at night. I have a feeling in a week or two there will be drastic temperature changes (for the cooler!)

I'm in the heart of the Midwest as well. It's mid 70's here most days & cooler evening. Seeing anything from sandals & summer clothes still to some brave soles breaking out fall items. Me, I'm mixing in my new booties for fall with my jeans. Still haven't broken out my new fall sweaters; however, I have started to need another layer & that is a nice change. We are expected to cool off here a little more next week as well. Can't wait! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fall!!! :)

We're having a typical Californian Indian Summer thing going on here. Temps from 80-90, but not as high as the killer heat wave that was predicted. I'm still enjoying my summer wardrobe (especially since a lot of it is post-Angie and YLF and thus still new and exciting), but I cannot wait to break out the boots!

What Tanya said - except I am happy without rain! It'll be snowing soon enough. :-(

Lately it's been wonderful sleeping weather, and we have not had our AC on in a few weeks. I like that. We have our windows wide open while we can. We have had a few days recently where it was colder - by 15 degrees - inside the house than outside, which threw me for a loop, as I ended up overdressing.

As far as fashion is concerned, I'm finding the uniform of short sleeve blouse, jeans or skirt, ballet flats - with a cardi or blazer for night - works best. I've only worn boots once so far. But I do run hot.

I am so beyond ready for fall!! Not just for the fashions, but for the feel of crisp, cold air pouring in through my bedroom window as I snuggle under cozy blankets. :)
Summer came late to central Canada; it's been positively balmy since I got back from NJ, where we also enjoyed short-sleeve weather for most of the month.

I am not! We haven't had much of a summer here in the upper East coast and I am not yet ready to start another fall/winter.

For me it's not a matter of temperature.. here in Lisbon the temperature is still about 70º and 85º but I'm sick of summer clothes and I'm axious to use all my other clothes so I'm more than ready to start incorporate a cardigan, darker color, fall acessories.

This is why I prefer winter and summer to autumn and spring, it is much easier to know what to wear! We have been having lovely weather in London with lots of sun and highs of 21C or 70F during the day. Not cold enough for boots and tights, but not warm enough for full on summer dressing.

Today I have a silk shift dress on with black opaque tights. I took a black cotton cashmere cardigan to work, but have disgarded that and I always feel strange wearing tights and no sleeves!

It may be autumn on the calendar but down south, summer is still going strong. It's been in the 80s- 90s every day; we'll start to see a cool off towards the end of October. I am ready for cooler temps. I'm tired of sweating through 2 outfits every day and ready for crunchy leaves, hot cider & cool crisp air! And, oh, I am dying to wear my gorgeous fall and winter clothes!! I think my fall/winter wardrobe is much more fun because I can do more.

Oh, me! LOVE fall, my favourite time of year by far.

I think londonkiwi and I might be living in different Londons, haha! I've already brought out my motercycle boots and have worn them three times in the last week, over skinnies. Maybe it's not exactly "necessary" during the day, but it's been getting chilly at night here!

Posted 5 months ago

Ele - maybe! It is definitely chilly at night and in the morning, but I have been feeling really warm during the day, plus dark London winters are the toughest things ever and I try and prolong summer as long as possible!

lk- It's probably just wishful thinking (er, dressing) on my part. As in "wear the clothes and the cool weather will follow". I do love Fall!

Our Midwest weather is all over the place, which is normal. It means layers for cool mornings that can be removed for hot mid-day. I've been putting away much that is sleeveless and white bottoms and jackets. The sandals need to be put away too to make room for boots. I like fall, but it is usually too short. I'd rather not have to bundle up in heavy coats for months. Sometimes fall weather can last until mid December. I hope this is one of those years.
