Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Purchases : Keep or return

I need some feedback on these purchases as I feel like my judgment is failing me and I'm easily persuaded.

1. Juicy Couture maternity dress:

Pros: comfy, practical, will accommodate a huge bump, I like the color
Cons: I may be better off with a sleeker style

2. Zara military jacket
3. BR zipper skinnies

http://i282.photobucket.com/al.....G_4075.jpg
Jacket Pros: I love the way it looks
Jacket Cons: The small was too small, the medium was unavailable, so this is the large. I think it looks fine but I'm concerned that's just because the bump is filling it out. Is it too trendy? Is it practical?

Jeans Pros: Inexpensive. I like the fit
Jeans Cons: Can I get away with the shorter length?

3. BR cardigan

http://i282.photobucket.com/al.....G_4076.jpg
Pros: Comfy and practical. I like the colorblock style.
Cons: I'm not convinced that it's all that flattering over my bump.

Please be ruthless. Thanks.

Patience, you look so fabulous for your last trimester. I'm no expert but my observations are:
1) Love the dress, looks comfortable and lots of scope for adding scarves and chunky necklaces to keep things interesting.
2) Love the style of jacket but is it a little big on your shoulders?
3) Jeans, looks cute with heels but not so fab with flats if you have to retire the heels.
4) Very nice cardigan.
You have a perfect bump, are you carrying all up front?

Patience, I am far from knowledgeable about pregnancy style, but here is my take:

I like the dress. It's flattering, it looks comfortable, and you can probably wear it all through your pregnancy. It also seems like a good basic you could wear with leggings, cardigans, jackets.

The fit of the jacket looks good to me through the shoulders; I don't think I'm expert enough to say anything about the fit through the torso/over your baby. I don't think it's too trendy.

I like the jeans! I think the shorter length works for you. It looks nice with your heels. Definite keep.

I don't prefer the cardigan, I think it's less flattering than the other items you showed.

Oh Patience, you and your bump look adorable in everything. I really like the zipper skinnies. I so wanted to give them a try when they went on sale but now all they have in my size is a short which is only 26" long! Are yours regular? They seem like they are meant to be on the shorter side so I think they look fine, and I actually don't think they would look bad with flats.

The dress seems very comfortable and breezy and it's still flattering and I like the cardigan. I'm not sure about the jacket. I like how it looks and it has that trademark strong Zara shoulder, which keeps it from looking sloppy...but it's hard to tell how much you'll fill it out post-baby. I can't imagine you being a large though, which is my real hesitation.

If you don't mind a newbies opinion (I'm one to just jump into things)...Love the dress, and with the empire waist, you may get extra use out of it for those couple of post-pregnancy months (or days/weeks for those lucky enough to bounce right back to their regular shape).

The jacket and jeans are adorable. I prefer it with the heels or no-heel ballet slipper, the little heel just didn't do it for me. The jacket looks like it fits well to me.

The cardigan I'm not as fond of, it just doesn't do anything for you ... maybe with a different shirt?

You and baby look beautiful!
I really love the dress and boots. I also think the jeans look great. The jacket and the cardigan, I think you can do better. The jacket looks stiff and the cardigan looks like too much fabric. I guess I would like them both if they were slinky fabric to hug your curves.
How do you make regular jeans stay up with a baby bump? Is there a secret like the belly band?

Patience, you look so great! I LOVE the dress. Definitely a keeper. I like the jeans as well. The jacket and the cardigan don't do much for me, personally. You are such a fashionable mom-to-be!!

Love the dress and the skinnies. The jacket and cardi I am on the fence with. Do you need them? Will you get use out of them post bump?

My goodness. I am the odd one out! It does not happen often here on YLF that my opinion is different to everyone else’s. How interesting.

I was BLOWN AWAY by everything that you posted and how you’re wearing the new items, Patience. Good grief! You took my breath away in the last two outfits –edgy, fun, polished, sassy, trendy, chic AND pregnant with lots of attitude. KILLER I tell you.

A big fat keep everything from me. Your judgment is better than ever in my book :0)

Woohoo Patience! You stylish thing, you got KILLER from Angie!! You have a great eye there!

Everything looks really cute Patience! I especially like those jeans -- I think the length is great. My least favorite is the colorblock cardi. I think it's the rolled hem (?) that is bothering me.

Love all 3 outfits Patience! The zippered skinnies look fantastic as does the Zara military jacket. I'm going to have to check that out. You are the most stylish pregnant lady I have ever known!!!

Wow Patience, You look amazing! Everything is a keeper in my book. I love those zippered skinnies on you!

I won't be able to pursuade you any differently Patience. I saw the jacket and the BR cardigan in person and loved them on you, and love them in the photos, too.
I really like the white top under the BR cardigan. I like how it actually accentuates baby. It's a fun look.
The Zara jacket is just really cool. Plus, it was lighter weight if I recall, so it is more practical for our temperatures.
I actually don't mind your skinny jeans with that heel. Keep!
The dress is really nice. I like how you edged it up a bit with your boots.

I would have loved to look so stylish during my pregnancies! Everything looks fabulous. I think the dress will serve you well during the last few weeks when you simply don't want your clothes to touch you. You are an amazingly beautiful pregnant woman!

I LOVE all the items you posted, Patience! :) I'm especially mesmerized by the BR cardigan!

Posted 1 month ago

Ditto on what Sarah said. :D The BR cardi is one of my favorite pieces you picked up that day. I may copy you if there are any left when I get a little extra cash.

I'll third Sarah's comments! I love the white highlighting The Bump and your beautiful cardigan and jacket around it. The dress is gorgeous too!

Wow! Thank you, ladies. Now I am blown away. I have not been sleeping well and Saturday was a pretty rough day. (I finally just went to bed at 9pm.)

Julie, I have been told that I do not look pregnant from the back so I guess that means I carry all up front. But my whole body does grow proportionally a size or two.

I think I am going to have to try to hunt down the medium size in the military jacket. I compared it to jackets in my closet and it is significantly bigger. While I love it, I can't justify wearing it for a few months and then have it be too large. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed on that one.

Patience does not look pregnant from the back. In fact, in my opinion she doesn't look pregnant anywhere but her perfectly round baby bump.
