I would try pinning it before you decide to tailor to see if you even like the look. Nipping the waist may not even work with the overall style/cut of the jacket -- which I think is intentionally a bit boxier. But it is worth a shot. That being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with #2. It is a nice jacket. I just think that the other two are more traditionally figure flattering -- but that doesn't have to be a priority every time we dress. [I personally like shooting for JFE these days. ]

That's what I was thinking of, actually! I also wonder if it might be too short to ever be flattering.

You know, my personal preference for boxy jackets is actually to go shorter than in #2. I do wear boxy jackets, but most of mine are quite cropped. I wear them over tunics and dresses that have some waist definition (not necessarily body con, just more fitted). To my eye, #2 seems either too long or too short for a boxier style. But, again, that is just my personal preference. We all (thankfully) see things differently.
