Go Cheryl! It is tough but how good it feels to start dislodging all that unused stuff. I plan to tackle our kitchen this week and you've inspired me to get serious and just do it.

Good job! It feels good to pass on things that you no longer need.

I must admit that I've never had a hard time letting go of stuff. I've never been a saver and I actually like to get rid of things that aren't being used. I'm the same with house stuff too. A couple of years ago I got pretty ruthless in cleaning out household drawers and cabinets. One simple method of evaluation that helped me was to ask myself if something is useful and if not useful, is it beautiful or something I love. If neither, it's time to pass it on.

Congrats! That is great like Susie I use the useful, beautiful, I love it test.... to varying effectiveness

Fantastic! As CL said, you can always have a 'holding zone' for the not 100% sure pieces, and do a final sort before you take them away.

Congratulations! But be careful - purging can be addictive

Well done! I have trouble with that too, I empathize. It does feel great to remove some of the visual clutter and have things look clearer, though!

Great job, Cheryl!

Which reminds me of something my husband said back when we had a couple of garage sales - He wanted to get to the point where he could say he "wished we hadn't sold that".

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I am getting better at letting things go that just don't make me as happy as they used to. It's a process, that's for sure!
