What a fun thread!
In the last year, my style has been evolving towards fewer items but quality fabrics, fewer colors and embellishments but bold, graphic shapes and silhouettes. As you can see from this selection, the color palette is limited, but I think the outfits have a sharp, striking quality to them. That's what I am enjoying currently.

Bella, you have KILLER style and we miss you on the forum! I love the simpler direction of your outfits and hope that you continue on this leg of your style journey. #2 LAUNCHES ME INTO ORBIT and I am still recovering!! Your best *ever*. I love #5 and #4 next because they are strong and extra flattering. #7 is also a fave because you rock those baggy shorts

Thank you Amy and Angie! Angie, #2 is also one of my favorites ever. You're definitely right about it having its own attitude, and while I haven't been able to get many outfits with the same feel it's the outfit that made me really really love button-up shirts. I'm lightening up on my "no repeats" rules so I plan to wear variations of that outfit plenty this spring

2011 was a year of fashion FUN for me:
I came up with my 3 style adjectives: casual, feminine, fun.
I tried many trends in small doses.
I bought for my dominant season and actually enjoyed dressing for the heat.
My shoe collection may have tripled in size (I started with a small amount).
Lastly, 2011 was the year of the HAT.

Pics 1-6 : Trends (skinny cargo, lace, moto jacket, variations of orange, 70's, and military.)
Pic 7: Finally found my black blazer and luv my floppy hat!
Pic 8: This skirt was my first thrifted item 3 years ago and it's still a remix favorite.
Pic 9: Scarf into vest discovery.
Pic 10: In 2011, I thrifted this silk dress (new with tags) for $12!
Pic 11: My Instyle picture!
Pic 12: I picked the dress, my kids picked the rest!
Pic 13: Can not forget THE DRESS!

All of these outfits sum up how YLF has made it so enjoyable to be inspired by Angie, the forum FABers, and others. Thanks for a great year!

Hugs and smooches!

WOW I am loving this thread, It is so much fun to see such an evolution, in all of you!

Oh my...SO much fun to see this revived and all the additions! Aida, AJ, Lyn!! Such brilliant outfits. I really find it difficult to pick favourites and I love these retrospectives. It gives such a good sense of a person's overall style.

I wanted to put this thread in my favourites-but it's impossible:--why cannot do this(lithe red heart is here not an option?
Can't wait to have a break and looking what others posted!!!:-))
You are too kind, AJ and Suz!:-))

It is there, Lyn. I can see the heart! It's next to the clock in the top row of categories.

More KILLER outfits from AJ & Lyn. Thanks for posting

This thread forced me to go back and look at outfits that I wore this year - some of them were painful to look at - but, I was surprised that I found a few that I absolutely LOVED!

Here they are - in no particular order: (also, if you get a sense of what my style persona is - would you please let me know? I'm still kind of lost!)

1. I discovered "my way" of wearing a white button-down blouse - and this was fun, comfortable and easy. Also, gave me a chance to wear my metallic shoes and carry my metallic handbag.

2. A Sart challenge. Love my deep teal jacket and the hat - I wore this everytime the temp dropped below 60! Also, the black trousers were my version of black dressy pants - they are super baggy and sooooo not stuffy! Add the black patent leather oxfords and I felt spiffy!

3. Can't resist polka dots and red cowboy boots!

4. Fell in love with one of my few purchases this past year - cobalt skinnies - they became a neutral for me. This outfit may have been a little "young" looking for me, but it gave me a chance to wear red, cobalt blue, fuschia and orange - plus a short little skirt that I wouldn't be caught dead in without those pants underneath!

5 and 6 My tuxedo jacket and hat with ruffly purple sleeveless blouse. I loved the tails on the jacket because it made it look like I had a "booty!" (see pic #6.)

7. Another Sart challenge. Maxi skirt and houndstooth hat. Love this, mainly because this is my dear father-inlaw's hat.

8. Another cobalt skinny outfit. Made me feel like a lady who has fun!

9 and 10. Another Sart challenge. This was my go-to outfit this summer when I would walk downtown on Sundays to the market and street fair. I looked best in the navy linen jacket (9.) but I liked to mix it up once in awhile with the other one (10) - just for variety. And yes - those are tennis shoes, and I wore them a LOT!

11. An outfit from our summer weekly Art challenge. This dress is pretty girly and perhaps too young looking for me - but I tried to toughen it up with the black capris, black and metal studded belt and the metallic shoes. It just felt good.

12. From our One item - 5 ways Challenge. We picked one item and wore it 5 different ways, 5 days in a row. This was probably my favorite of the week - gave me a chance to wear my black patent and blue fuzzy flats. I had fun in this outfit!

13. And finally - one last Sart challenge - my harem pants, along with a peek of red panties (sorry Una!) I wore this outfit (and variations of it,) from last spring all the way through this fall. Yes, I did stand out in the crowd - I didn't care.

Marley, my fave outfit of yours was one of the first you posted and the first I ever saved for an inspiration photo. Hope you don't mind if I share it here. I also loved the shorts and white button front, which I tried but failed at copy catting lol!

Mo - I had that one marked, but somehow I forgot to post it. Thanks for reminding me! I found that the key to the white button down blouse (which I generally stay away from!) was finding one that fit me absolutely perfectly. The rest of the outfit was easy after that.

@Marley - I see two style vibes; sophisticated tomboy and flirty feminine. Luv your choices of favorites!

Oh thanks AJ! That is a HUGE help to me because I kept looking at them and thinking my style is suffering from a multiple personality disorder! I can work with Sophisticated Tomboy and Flirty Feminine!
