I have a really nice collection of pointy toe pumps which were in style circa 2002-2004. I am talking here about Dolce & Gabana, Cesare Pacciotti, Coach, etc. But I have not worn them since because first I was pregnant and then styles shifted to round-toe pumps. So now I am stuck with these, and I don't want to get rid of them because they are really nice shoes. My question is, can these still be worn and with what? If it helps, I could post some pictures, but essentially the toe is pointed, very pointed. Thank you for any suggestions.

I would love to see some pictures just for the sake of seeing such prestiges shoes. This is quite a delima and I'm not sure what the answer is, but I hope they can still be worn with wide leg trousers or skirts.
Please do post pictures so we can see these lovely shoes.

I think you should just wear them. Definitely with wide leg pants and pencil skirts. My feeling is that a person tends to either have a preference for pointy toes or round toes. Sounds like you are a pointy toe person so enjoy it.

I would be also curious to see the photos. I agree with Patience on the items you could wear them with. I think that pointy toed shoes are classic and never really go out of style. They may not be the 'it' shoe at some moment, but are always stylish.

I'll reserve judgment till the visuals. Pointy toed shoes are a classic for sure, but I have seen the odd dated style. Bring on the pics!

Wow, I think all your shoes are gorgeous! To me, all of them still look great. I have some pointy toed shoes in my wardrobe and I tend to prefer them over round toes - at least for my body type. I am short, so I feel like they tend to elongate the leg.

OMG those shoes are stunning! I love the pointy-toed look much better than rounded-toe on myself; the rounded just look too school-girl for my taste. So I say you can wear them for as long as you like! Pointy-toed look great with a wide-leg or a bootcut, with pencil skirts, etc.

As much as I am vehemently against the Dolce and Gabbana brand, I love those shoes (and a lot of their range for that matter).

Angie, how come you're against D&G? Does it have to do with their advertising or something else? I read something just a few weeks back about an ad they had that really rubbed me the wrong way and now I can't really see them in the same light.

Thank you so much for all your responses. Now I have the fun task of piecing together the outfits which will go with these shoes. Your suggestions are definitely going to be a great help.
I didn't know about D&G, although I am not suprised. Did anyone notice how fur became prominent again in fashion magazines a few years ago? It seemed as if the gluttony on the Wall Street was being mimicked by gluttony in fashion. I'll make sure that I check out the brand before I buy its goods from now on, especially the ones that charge premium prices.

I recall a scandal not too long ago when it was discovered that a number of coats from Macy's were marked as being made of faux fur, when in fact it was real fur--not only real fur, but real fur from dogs and cats It was very sad...not just because of the cruelty situation, but also because so many people were deceived.

Oh well, that has nothing to do with this discussion. The shoes are all pretty and good for you if you can actually walk in them

I was actually reading about a controversial ad for D&G that was supposed to imply gang raping a woman, so that's what I thought Angie might be referring to. Really disturbing.

Maya, I'll tell you the story when we meet in NY if you’re up to it. My sister in law who lives in London interviewed Mr. Dolce in Milan in 2007 and got the info I know straight from the horse’s mouth. She’s an editor for the top boating magazine in the world and did an article about the interior of his yacht. It was published. It literally made me sick to my stomach.

Eek, I honestly don't think I want to know. Things like that tend to stick in my head and keep me up at night long after I hear about them. I can certainly believe it based on what I have seen/heard. I want our meetup to be a joyous occasion!
