Please help with sizing on recent purchase

I bought this top from jcrew in the smallest size they had left. Is it too big on me? Is it flattering? Please use CRS.

If I kept it I would also wear it tucked into pencil skirts. I know it's supposed to be voluminous but it's not clear to me how it's supposed to fit correctly. It's fine through the shoulders but very wide in the chest.

I also bought these grey skinnies I had my eye on and they went on sale. Are they worth keeping?

P.S. I decided the last pair of jeans I posted was too snug and will return them. The jacket I'm keeping.

I think the skinnies look great but the top does look too big. Even if the size is okay it just looks a bit overwhelming to me. Do they have it on the website? Could you post a link for comparison?

I also meant to ask-- maybe it would work if I had it taken in on the sides? The only thing is that the armholes are cut so far out that there's no way to really take it in at the bust.

(Don't worry; I'm not dead set on keeping the blouse-- I just really don't understand how it's supposed to fit.)

It looks like there's a bit of extra fabric around the bust, just below the armpits. On the model it seems like it's more fitted and then flares out. I don't think it fits poorly, but I do think it would fit better in a smaller size. When you have your arms at the side you can really tell, though I don't think you'll be posed like that most of the time...

The skinnies are FABULOUS, definitely a keeper. Swoon!
I'm not enchanted with the top. It looks fine belted, though not "special" as your blouses often do. I don't really care for it unbelted and think you can do so much better.

I agree with the others that the top is not that great. Taking the sides in might help, but if your not in love with it why take the chance? I think the sleeve length is all wrong also. I would rate the skinnies a 10 and the top a 4

Patience, I am not very cluey about this, but I think the problem with the top is that it is too short for it's width. The same top in a tunic length might work. I think it was too short when belted too. I don't know though, if tucked in too a pencil skirt would be ok

I agree with the others. The skinnies are great, the top not so much. Like you, I don't understand that top.

I think there's consensus about the top. Thanks everyone. On the skinnies, I forgot to ask about length. I tucked one leg under. So do you like hemmed shorter like on the left or longer and scrunched like on the right, or somewhere in the middle? Thanks.

I am late here, but I agree that the blouse looks too big for you. The skinnies fit you amazing though! I personally prefer the longer scrunched length.
