Playing around with denim shirt outfits

I think I'm sold on denim shirts. Here are a few outfits I came up with. These are adventurous for me because I don't typically wear buttondown shirts or belts.

First, the blue chambray tunic from Macy's (Marianna's shirt). I think it's long enough to wear with leggings, since it covers my rear.

- Basic look: shirt, black leggings, black slouchy boots:

Next, the western chambray shirt from Gap (Angie's shirt). This one I might return since I have too many denimy tops now (two denim jackets, the chambray tunic, and this shirt); I think I can duplicate many of the looks with what I have.

-Homage to Angie #1. My dress is a lot shorter than her bubble dress, so I would need to wear this with opaque tights or leggings to make it more appropriate:

I like all the Macy's denim outfits. For the gap denim shirt, I really like your homage to Angie #2.

If you can keep just one, I'll vote with AJ and say the Macy's shirt is it!

Woohoo! I love all these looks! I'd keep both the Marianna and the Angie shirt.

I also am totally in love with your sandals. Did you buy them directly from the SH site?

Wow you have a set of gams on you!
The first shirt is a great shilloute, long and lean. I think it will be very useful and it looks great on you.
Really everything you came up with here is beautiful. I'm growing to love the denim, or chambray shirt more and more.

janet -- Another vote for the Macy's shirt, yay! I think I can duplicate homage #2 with that shirt.

Marianna -- I got my sandals from Yoox.com for $90-something. They're pretty pricey on the SH site! Sometimes they have specials though with free shipping, and also if the exchange rate is favorable to us it might be worthwhile to shop directly from SH. Endless also carries them, and have several styles on sale right now.

Kim -- I doubt I would wear homage #1 out But it was fun trying recreate Angie's bubble dress look. Out of all her denim shirt outfits, that one stick in my mind the most because it's so creative.

taylor -- thanks! I like the trench dress because it's really fun to layer different things under it; sometimes I'll do a dress-over-a-dress look with that piece.

I LOVE the white jeans look. That's my fav. Second fav is the cropped denim leggings with the silver clog sandals (which are SUPER cute, BTW).

I have to be torn from my denim shirt at the end of the day, they jut become more comfortable after every wash.

All of your outfits are fab and I think the homage to Angie 1 will look fantastic with leggings added.

Oh and your sandals are just killing me.

Great outfits!! loving the denim shirt look. I am reluctant to buy one though as already it is getting very hot and by the time it cools down again (Oct/nov) they may be longer be in fashion.
Would I be able to adapt this trend and get light weight denim tunic/shirt dress whcih would work better through the long hot summer as casual weekend look?
Also wanted to say I love love love your extra long pearl necklace, I think I need something similar!

Nice work CCeile! My faves are with the black pants (leggings?) and boots - I'm totallly going to copy this look if that's ok!! I prefer it unbelted though, but I'm pretty anti-belt generally Runner-up is the white jeans......very fab!

mummy2thea -- for sure, I think you can get a lightweight chambray tunic for the summer. Definitely stay away from the heavier denim shirts.

Tam -- go for it! I'm also not 100% sold on belts either, so I prefer it unbelted too.

Louise -- Do you have a long-sleeve dress to try it with? I'd love to see!
