Signing on from China to thank you for this thread, Sarah! I have trouble opening pictures here but I'm going to do my best to send and then will come back later to check out everybody's fab looks!
As you know, I was slow and hesitant to adopt this look (5'4" and muscular calves plus shortish legs.) But I'm loving it now!
I have 4 pair of booties and hope to buy more. Like Chouette, I'd really get a lot of wear from a blue pair, but they aren't easy to find.
Right now I have black lowish heeled ones; I prefer these with black tights but here they are with coloured tights (pic 4). Seeing them here is instructive; with the coloured tights they are leg-shortening, I think, but I wear them anyway.
I have a light brown (smog) bootie - shown here with tights and with bare legs. (pics 2/3)
And my Report Marks which is a near-nude. The Reports are loose on the ankle; the others are snug. I like them both ways! But the Reports are more difficult to wear with trousers unless they are cropped or rolled or bootcut. (pic 1)
I don't have a pic with my Doc Marcies and a dress right now.
