One last sheath...I promise!!! Keep or toss?

Hi Ladies,

I would like your opinion on one last sheath dress I found in the back of my closet. I had forgotten all about it until I saw Angie's cobalt dress post two weeks ago. I don't think I've worn it in the past five years and I'd like your opinion whether to keep or toss.

I no longer have the original shoes so I just threw on a pair of pewter heels. Any suggestions for shoes if I keep it?

I think the reason I stopped wearing it was that the original cardigan is color-blocked and boxy. I also thought the cardi was out-dated with the color blocking. I'll show you it with the original cardigan and with my green ATL cardi. Opinions please!

Also, the ATL cardi does not exactly match the green band around the neck but I could always pick up a different color green if that's a deal breaker.

So what do you think? Keep or toss?

Debora, I think the dress looks beautiful on its own and looks gorgeous on you. With cardigans, I prefer the ATL cardigan to the original. I actually like the fact that it doesn't look like you are trying to match the chartreuse color to the green in the dress, but the color tones are all similar.

I love the dress on its own, gorgeous color. I agree that the cardigan seems a bit boxy.
I think the dress needs a bit of a heel, the ones you have on look fine.

But I say definitely keep the dress! And WEAR it, too

Thanks, Kari, Jean and Isablue. I never liked the original cardigan and that's why the dress got pushed to the back of my closet.

If I keep it, I'll probably wear it on it's own and I was hoping I could update the look by adding the chunky pearls or the green cardi. I'm really hesitant to put on a dress that's been sitting in my closet for so many years. I don't want to look dated.

same here: keep the dress, ditch the cardi. the heels you have on are just fine imo.

This dress is so beautiful and looks so good on you that it's really a pity to see it covered up with those long, boxy cardigans. For practical purposes, I think I would prefer a wrap of some kind, or a more cropped and delicate cardigan.

The dress fits so beautifully on you, and the color scheme is awesome. I agree that the original cardi doesn't work. The ATL one is better (love the color), but I think an even more cropped cardi would look nice.

Maya anc cciele - I like the idea of a cropped cardi. It would be nice to have one to throw on when it gets chilly.

Cciele - I was surprised when I tried on the dress. It actually fits me better now than when I originally bought it. It's those middle-aged pounds! I've actually filled out a little in the past few years! (I'm not sure if I should add a happy or sad face here!)

Debora...the dress looks fabulous on you. The colors are lovely and it makes a statement all on its own. I think wearing the cardigans takes away from the dress. I say keep it, I don't think it is out of style at all

The cardis are both too long. Try something more cropped and cheeky. White denim jacket with flat sandals would work well too.

Debora -- heh, I know what you mean about those middle-age pounds! But you've filled the dress out very nicely, so I say: happy face!
