Hi!

Two dresses I ordered from http://www.asos.com a few weeks ago finally arrived today, which was a pleasant surprise as I had almost forgotten that I had ordered them. The first dress, a grey and black petite dress in UK size 8 (US4) was unfortunately too big despite the sizing charts stating that the size 8 would be the perfect size for me. I'm not too bothered with requesting a size down as in person, the dress doesn't really appeal to me that much.

The other dress though was ordered as a whim on sale for around €15 in a UK size 6 as there were no size 8 left with the attitude of if it doesn't fit me, I'll give it to my younger sister as a treat. Strangely enough, this dress fitted perfectly. I took a photo of it: http://s396.photobucket.com/al.....C11263.jpg

It is a regular length dress and hits a couple of inches above the knee. I am wearing it with a pair of red flat shoes and a green bead necklace in the photo.

So, is this dress a keeper?

The dress fits you very well. Personally, I don't care for the ruffle on the hem though. But that's just me.

Hi Dawn! I say it's a keeper. I agree with Antje--on someone slightly older, the ruffle hem might be too much, but you can still really pull it off. The dress has nice detailing, and fits you very well. You could add a structured jacket over the top if you wanted to tone it down. Also, have you tried your waistcoat over it yet? That could be interesting. I'd love to see you mix it up by wearing a bracelet instead of a necklace sometimes. The ruffles on the neckline are so pretty, I don't even think you need a necklace.

Cool, it's a keeper. I think I'll be putting it away for a couple more months though until it gets warmer.

Ana, thanks for the suggestions. I have a couple of bracelets that would work with the dress, and I hadn't even thought of trying a waistcoat or a structured jacket with it. This is what I love about YLF.
