Need opinions on a dress I have on hold

I tried on this dress at Macy's today and I have mixed thoughts. I put it on hold to think about it.

It looks like a skirt and shirt, but it's one piece. I'm not sure if it is too small on me because it looks completely different on the model:

It's supposed to hit below the knee but it doesn't on me because I'm gigantic...

I'm not sure if it's season appropriate, but I thought it would be cute to wear at Anthro with tights and boots, and maybe a blazer. But... I have doubts.

Something about how the top blouses over does not work for me even on the model. Could just be me though.

I like it and the colour suits you. You certainly can rock a pencil skirt as well but I wonder if you would be better served with a pencil skirt and separate top combo for the sake of versatilty.

Maya, I know what you mean. I did find that part sort of odd.

Dawn, good point. Except I can never figure out how to correctly style a skirt. This makes the formula so much easier. Haha.

I actually really like it. I like the length better on you than the below the knee concept. Great color. Seems pretty versatile too. A blazer might work but it would hide the ruching on the sleeves...

Off topic, but where did you get that beautiful black purse? Love that!

I like how it looks on you much better than on the model...and I have no doubt that you could make it pop with your collection of necklaces... but somehow, it doesn't justify the price for me. it looks like a casual t-shirt that's been tucked into a pencil skirt (which is a look I really like, when the shirt has a bit more oomph) but I think you'd be better off getting separate pieces, and styling them similarily

Marianna I think you look fabulous in it, much better than the model. I really like it with the boots. I LOVE that color by your face, it really compliments your complexion and the color of your hair.

I think you could dress it up with a great belt to accentuate that amazing waist you have.

When I first saw the dress on the model I thought it was horrible! Then I saw it on you and I changed my mind! I think this could be very versatile for lots of seasons. This looks a lot more easy to wear than separates. You don't have to worry about the shirt coming untucked or any unsightly bulk under the skirt from tucking. I'd take it home and play around with it.

Marianna, you are NOT gigantic, and it looks so much better on you than on the model The color is beautiful on you. But I do think that you could do better, I have seen you in much better options.

I like the dress a lot and think it would be quite comfortable and fun for work. I agree that it looks so much better on you than the model. The color is great on you, it would be easier to wear than separates and I have no doubt you will accessorize it beautifully.

I agree with others that the dress looks better on you than on the model. It looks like a fun basic dress that can be styled in many different ways with cascading cardis, blazers and fun necklaces of various lengths.

100% agreed- the model doesn't do that dress justice, but you look fab!
and the fact that it is one piece to look like 2 doesn't bother me at all- it just means your blouse will always stay tucked in!
buy it and using your word- you do not EVEN look gigantic in this dress.
and I do the same thing- if I'm shopping in boots and jeans they rarely come off- too much work.

I love it- and you could pop a turtleneck under it for winter, or a blazer or sweater over it.

I had the exact same reaction as others: when I saw it on the model I thought it was not great, and then when I saw it on you I thought it looked wonderful!

Marianna, I really like it on you and I think you could do a lot with it. I vote go for it.

Another late to the party - but I agree that the model looks bleh in the dress, and you look wonderful! I also think that the one-piece simplicity is nice. You can do alot with it - jacket, long cardi, etc.

Looks absolutely gorgeous on you, Marianna.

I was at Anthro today and it seemed like every sales associate I saw was wearing an above the knee dress - one of which was a colorblocked style quite similar to yours - with leggings, patterned tights, boots, and either a cropped jacket or long cardigan.

You have so many cute products in your store right now - I completely envy your employee discount!

I like this dress very much on you...I think you can style it multiple ways...and the color is divine. It's a keeper.
