The fit of the jacket is absolutely perfect on the bodice. Fabulous! The diagonal pocket detailing is stellar. I can’t really see the collar detail because of the camera that’s in the way. It does look high, but I can’t tell whether it’s unflattering. What do you think?

I think the jacket fits great, and I really like the style and the detail. This brown color is very nice, too, although I understand your preference for a cooler color.

I am still undecided on this jacket. It's really a case of I'm not in love and I am just settling because it's so hard to find something perfect. I think I'll try it on again tomorrow with jeans and try to take some more pics. I did see a jacket that I sort of loved at Nordies last week when I was traveling:

It was a much darker red in person and I really liked the fit - it was snug in the bust in a way that was very flattering (lots of jackets end up just smooshing the bust) and the waist was like a corset so it kind of sucked everything in for a very streamlined fit. However, the sleeves were too long and it was not available in petites. I suppose it could be tailored but I really want to focus my fall dollars on a perfect pair of flat boots and I recently picked up a stylish new accessory (new MacBook Pro to replace my iBook G4) so my budget is a little tight...

i adore the scarf! i do like the jacket as well, but, like you, i don't know if i *love* it. since it sounds like you are on a tighter budget, i would return it and wait for a jacket you love. the fall clothing season is just beginning, so i bet there will be many more out there for you to try.

Shana, I am bringing this up for you again. What did you end up deciding about the jacket? It seems from your reply that you didn't really love it, but it fits you well and seems flattering. I guess it really depends whether you're willing to compromise or not, and what your budget is. If you find the perfect jacket later, will you not be able to get it because you already blew your budget on this one? If that's the case, I would hold out.

My only advice is if you have doubts-wait. I am also looking for a jacket and have been for quite a while but I have faith that the right one will come along. One thing i am learning is that patience helps with decisions, even if it means holding off for a season or not deciding for awhile.

Shana, I think you're being too hard on yourself (and on us!). My posts don't always get lots of traffic either. I know you're probably thinking "she has got to be kidding," but it's true. I have been here a long time, pretty much since the forum began, so I know my posts generally get more traffic than they probably deserve...but not always! I just had two posts that either got no replies or got something like 4 replies (2 being from me, 2 being from someone else). It has nothing to do with your style not being interesting enough or your body type not being "right." I wish you had left the pictures up for more people to comment on. I hope you'll feel a little better and continue to post pictures and forgive any unintentional neglect on our part!

I see what you mean about the collar being high on the neck. I found that I can wear it high or fold it down. If my neck were any shorter this coat would not work.

I just looked for the pictures and was dissappointed to see they are gone. I missed this post the first time around. It must have been put up on a day that the forum was moving very fast.

I also love a Merlot color leather jacket or boots or bag. I have always love leather in that color. I also think Merlot would look better on me than the more yellowish browns because my skin tone is pinkish.
I think a Merlot jacket with the sea green scarf sounds stunning.

Mine came today and I was disappointed to find that the neck is really high on me too. It brushes my chin as I move. Also, I think the armholes are cut too low (for me), which, when zipped, makes the jacket bunch upward as I move. Jackets are so tricky!
