I was recently inspired by this look

The hair is very similar to a look Bella recommended for me and I do intend to go that short at my next hairdressing appointment.

I really love the girl's wool coat cinched with the tan belt and the matching shoes. After a quick search of the net I found these shoes

Should I add them to my wish list?
Do you think they are compatible with my style?
I hate to think that I'm stealing somebody else's style rather than forging my own!

Aren't we always stealing someone else's style? Nothing is ever completely original. I'm sure that girl was inspired by someone else, who was inspired by another person, etc. I like that about fashion: no one has the rights to any style or look and even if two people are wearing the same look, both of them will still have their own unique take on it.

I love those shoes and think they would definitely work with your style from what I have seen. Though I'm used to seeing you in heels. I guess these would be a nice break though!

I 100% agree with your post Maya, we all take inspiration from each other and things in our environment. However this is the first time I have literally wanted to steal a look from head to toe. Usually I am inspired by a colour combination, or a skirt length or a combination of textures rather than the whole ensemble.

I am a heels girl at heart but I do wear flats about 50% of the time. I frequently change my shoes throughout the day, heels for work, cons for the park, smart flats for shopping.

I probably have posted more heels as they are my preferred aesthetic.

I can't say I love these shoes, because they are so far away from my style... but I really think it could work with you!

I *love* those shoes, Julie! They're gorgeous, and I can actually really picture this look working for you. The only thing is that the whole belt-over-coat look can get really annoying, if you're shopping or going in-and-outside a lot. I've done it and love the look, but it's best on a long walk or something!

I love the shoes as well! That whole look seems like completely your style, so I don't think you're copying in the least. That gorgeous girl is a walking advertisement for fashion! Who wouldn't be inspired by her?

Sweet peds! So 80's I could faint. I had a pair exactly like that in white about 25 years ago. Perfect for Spring too. Thumbs up from me, Julie.

I second Ele on the belted coat idea. Great look for LONG periods of coat-wearing.

Thanks Julie. I'm a huge fan of this Spacesick series and in many ways it kind of reflects my fashion persona (bright colors, black and white, bold and graphic, retro).

I have definitely seen you replicate your profile picture pose before, head down, coy smile, eyes to the sky...there is definitely a resemblance.

The shoes are officially on my wish list now and if I buy them I promise to tell you just how uncomfortable they are. Would that make you feel better Maya?
