I actually haven't posted anything about my job search, that's why you haven't seen it. I got a great postdoc position that will be starting in 6 months. It is in Maryland, so I will be moving to a warmer climate. In the meantime I will be working as a postdoc in my current (old) lab, to get my current research wrapped up.

No Angie, it has just arrived earlier today, so have just been looking at it and admiring it.

I am actually quite nervous about taking it out to play. Is there some treatment that I could get to repel stains? How do you keep your cream bag clean? I am especially nervous about having the dye rub of my dark denim on it. I wear a lot of very dark rinse denim, and this week I have a couple of light colored tops that I need to deal with since the dye rubbed on them. I really hope it gets out in the wash and I am scared of the same thing happening to the bag.

I hear you. I have three cream bags and I *am* careful with them. My dark jeans don’t rub off onto anything anymore, so that’s sorted, but when they did, I did not wear my cream bags with those jeans. Also, I am careful of where I put my bag down – it’s like being careful when you wear a cream trench.

You should definitely protect it with multiple coats of something like Wilson's TLC spray or Kiwi Protect-All. If you do get some denim transfer (ugh), DO NOT use leather conditioner to clean it; that could seal the dye onto the leather. Start with a leather cleaner like Lexol.

Tam, Maryland is still on the East Coast, but much more south then Boston. I will be living and working right outside Washington DC.

That bag has "Tanya" written all over it! I love all the Kooba bags. I don't own one (yet) but the leather is so nice! Enjoy!

As for keeping it clean, I use Coach leather moisturizer (NOT cleaner) on my optical white bag and my cream coach bag. It did remove blue denim dye from the former. It works great on most of my bags, but for some odd reason, not so great on my banana bag. That bag seems to attract dirt like no tomorrow, especially the handle. I don't understand why - something about the leather I guess. So I may be in the market for another yellow bag.
