I promise to stop annoying you all soon!!! I'm loving this trialling a look I never ever imagined would work for me LOL

So, here is pretty much all of my tops with my skinny jeans... this time some shots with ballet flats.

My absolute fave is the blue/white tunic, but I like a lot of the others too. And I really like the ballet flats with them just as much as the boots.

This has been the most fun I have had experimenting in ages and ages!

Thanks for all the lovely pictures, Theresa! Isn't it wonderful to suddenly discover you have so many new outfit options? The skinnies look just as wonderful with your ballet flats as with the boots. My favourites are the silky blue banded top, the purple cardi (both ways), the white shell top (a bit of a Audrey Hepburn vibe going on there), and the cardi with the wide strips.

My favourite "going out" outfit is the silky blue banded top (I'm imagining it with open toed heels for a glamorous night-time look- hmmmmmm, can you wear heels with skinnies for special occasions? Must go and search the archives!) and I also love the blue and white tunic top as well.

I was busy Louise LOL Kids were playing happily so I took advantage of the peace!

That blue top is one of my favourites and I'm SO annoyed that I ironed the hole in it I've seen a similar one elsewhere, so need to try and track it down I think.

I think I'll wear them with the long cardi's for day wear, and keep the curves-on-display for playtimes... the school mum's can do without seeing that much of me LOL

I'm curious to see if I lose this fascination with this whole "skinny jeans business" or if they become a wardrobe staple fo rme.

You are fantastic Theresa, playing with proportions is totally trial and error and I'm in agreement with the other that the blue silk top and white shell with ballet flats looks incredibly chic. I find it amazing how much easier it is to see the proportions of an outfit in a photograph.

I think the blue silk top works really well because of the volume and the shell because of the boat neck.

My skinnies are a wardrobe staple, they don't excite me on their own now, but when the styling is right or I'm wearing a new voluminous top I still feel fashionable and edgy.

I'm looking forward to my two girls being old enough to do have some time to experimenting of my own.

LOL R&J, how old are your girls? Mine are almost 4 and almost 6 - but I must admit, the nice playing usually ends in fighting Although, they are now working out that when I'm trying lots of clothes on, they can come in and pinch things and get dressed up too - my shoes usually end up all over the house when I'm experimenting - but at least they are having fun!! (And that's generally why I'm pulling strange faces in pics - they are usually there talking to me!)

I realised this morning another thing that I need to consider with my top length - my sway back - I think that's why I favour the shorter tops - anything too long emphasises the distinct curve in my back and makes my butt look like its even bigger than it is - whereas the slightly shorter ones end just above the butt, so kind of bulk out that curve a bit - IYKWIM.

I think its becoming and obsession though when I realised this morning I was looking through my old clothes trying to find any other pair of jeans to alter into skinnies ROFL Sadly I didn't have anymore

You look great Theresa!! You did a nice job on the jeans, I would have never guessed they were altered. Maybe you can go to thrift store and find some more!

You wear skinny jeans very well. Again, without looking at other comments, the ones that work as is for me are: 1, 3, 4, 9 (I actually like this better with the cardi open but the top needs to be longer then), ditto for 10, 15

The ones that could easily work with a longer cami underneath: 2, 6, 7, 12, 16

I am not a big fan of: 5, 11, 12

I do need to try a few of these shorter tops on with my denim skirt I think because they will no doubt work better with it and my new boots.

This is pretty much my entire top collection - so once I get my bottoms sorted (I think a pair of dark wash skinnies for winter should be all I need), I think I might have to look at a few more slightly longer tops. Although perhaps I'll start with a couple of long cami's to wear under...

I have to admit I'm starting to second guess myself and am worried I'm going to look too peary... but I also know I'm pre-menstrual so trying not to let the voices in too much!

Theresa, the jeans turned out very nice. I wouldn't have thougth that dying them would work so well.

I agree with the comments you wrote for different pictures. The outifits I like the most are the white shell, purple cardigan unbuttoned, red-striped cardi and the last outfit buttoned up. I think they all give you a bit more volume at the shoulders to help balance the hips. I bet you would look very nice in a top with ruched sleeves (like Angie wrote about: http://youlookfab.com/2010/01/.....ay-or-nay/ ) I've seen some nice versions of this look at H&M that I'd love to try, but being rather broad shouldered I don't think I can pull that off.

My favourite is the grey stripey top with the cardigan, whether it's open or not. It looks funky without being too out there. The blue top is lovely too, as mentioned above would like to see it with some peep-toe heels, that'd be a fun look for you I think.

I actually wore them out in public for the first time today!! Will post pics later but I felt great!

That ruched sleeve top is gorgeous and I think something like that would work well fo rme - I'll be keeping my eyes open for something along those lines.

And you know, out of the outfits I've tried on with them I still haven't tried them on with heels - will do that soon! That would be a very fun going out outfit and definitely something I'd love.
