Micro check pants score! - YouLookFab Forum

I am taking a day of work today, for some much needed rest and I ended up in Club Monaco store at the nearby mall. And there, waiting for me, on sale, was the most perfect pair of micro check pants!

They are medium rise, very small bootcut. What makes them pure perfection is that they were exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find for over a year:

* black/cream ( I was looking for some combo of black/grey/cream)
* stretchy cotton material
* NO front pockets
* no whiskering/creasing at the front, which rarely happens to me with pants

I will have to have the waist band taken in, but that's pretty much a given for me. The only dilemma I have right now is what height of shoes to hem them for - true flats or small 1.5" mini wedge.

Angie, I do not know if these are the ones you mentioned on your blog, but if they are, they are on sale now!

Tanya, those look awesome! Do you mind me asking what the price range is they are on sale for? I can't find prices on their website at all, and I want to make sure the price is worth a trip downtown to look.

Kari, I do not mind at all. They were originally $139, are currently on sale for $99, and I had the extra 20 % off student discount so I ended up paying $79. It was still a bit more than I am happy to pay, but since I was looking for them for so long without success I couldn't risk waiting for them to go on further sale for the fear that they would be out of my size, which happens so often to me. This is the first mark down though, and in my experience with Club Monaco they will do second and third and so on if the item does not sell out. So it is up to you to decide if you want to wait for the further mark down.

Btw, the pants tag says small bootcut, but I have folded the leg to check and they are pretty much straight.

Hmm, that is a very steep price for me (and I wouldn't be privy to a great 20% off discount.) Still, it's worth a look to try them on, and if they are great pants it might be worth the price. Thanks for the info, Tanya!

Here's something I do often for a friend who likes CM a lot but is not student: we go to the store together, she picks out her things, I buy them for her with my student ID and then she gives me ( the discounted price) money back. So if you have a student friend, you could do this too.

Yes, they do have built in waist adjustments on the side ( you can see that in the second, close up photo). Sadly, those were not able to tighten the waist band enough for me, so I will still have to go to the tailor. Maybe they just went on sale indeed. It looks like we will be micro check twins Angie

Well, if you can break your shopping ban - I think this is the third time in a week - perhaps Angie will too.

He he Reese, you caught me. I do consider this 'technically' the first time, since I did get my $4 leggings and $6 top from my lunch money. I only broke it for the pants beacuse I have been looking for them for such a long time. I know, I am making up excuses. In my defense I managed to be good for about five weeks and will go back on the ban till June.

I think Angie's character is stronger than mine and she will fulfill her pledge as planned.

The microchecks look terrific on you! So glad you were able to find a pair you like. I tried on a couple of them in lighter shades during my frustrating shopping trip yesterday, but none were right. Ah well!

Kristen, please do not get frustrated. It took me over a year to find these ( and I do shop often, both in the stores and online). I think I must have tried over 20 different pairs throughout that time. I have even bought two from Gap last fall that I felt so-so about out of sheer desperation ( they did look great on other YLF ladies, but not on my body). Luckily our wise Angie & YLF made me see that so I returned them. And now I have these. It took forever, but it was well worth the wait.
