Madewell Barrow trousers: yay or nay

I ordered these a while ago, tried them on, felt grumpy about how they looked, and put them away. Now they are on the Style Exchange, and I thought I'd take a pic to show people how they fit me. And maybe they are better than I thought. Of course they are all crushed up and wrinkled here. What do you think?

It's a bit hard to tell from the photos because they're so dark, but I think I'd like them with a heel. Do they press out well? Or will they turn annoyingly wrinkled as you wear them?

I could wear with heels or cuff them. I think if I press them they will be okay but still a bit RATE.

I agree with Sarah that they would be improved by a heel. As for ironing them, I would keep them only if I did not have to iron them after every single wearing.

Yup, with a heel I think keep. But if you won't be rocking out in a heel everytime you wear them they may not be as fab as you usually are Alaskagirl

I'd like to see these with a tight top to see if having asymmetry in terms of fit on top and bottom is better.

I really like them with the (shorter) top in #2. They look like the sort of pants you could dress up or down which is always a bonus. A keep from me

I like them with both tops, and I think they look fine without a heel. What is the fabric? It looks like there is a button at the waist, but I don't see a zipper? Elastic waistband? For me, the type of fabric would be a determining factor in whether to keep or not.

I saw these on the Style Exchange and couldn't understand why your were selling them. Una I think they look great. The fit seems fine and I personally would prefer them with a heel (but that's me). I think you should wear and enjoy.

I agree with the others. They look good on you, although it would be a point against them if they wrinkle easily.

I'm the spanner. These trousers look overly baggy in the thigh and too long in the leg somehow. And perhaps a little high in the rise. They need to be filled out more to my eye. I vote pass on to SE, Una.

Yeah, this is always what you see with this style on me, Angie. I think I'm going to give up on it and try not to be more bitter than I am already. Thanks, ladies! I do appreciate the feedback and don't want to keep any mistakes.

I think the style would work better on you in a drapier fabric. This fabric looks fairly crisp for the style.

Una, if you see this this style in a stretch fabric, you should try it. That might provide more of the silhouette you're looking for. Less "nappy' and more "chic", if you know what you mean.

Haven't read what everyone else thinks but I think they are too saggy in the back for you Una.....not in love with the fit or the fabric.
