So, I just got accepted to the University of Texas at Austin, and I'm really excited about going. Football and Longhorn Pride (the mascot) are really important down here. Being a Northerner, I don't totally understand it, but it's sort of fun, and you know, when in Rome.....
So, this is kind of a silly request, but I wanted to put together an outfit to wear on school pride/game days (not to wear to the actual game, just to wear to class). Most kids just wear Texas t-shirts, but I wanted to maintain a small level of fashion. The school colors are a very specific shade of burnt orange (Texas Orange) and white. I wanted to wear white skinnies, a burnt orange shirt of some sort, and maybe a white short sleeve cardigan (like my black cardi, only white--I have it on order from J. Crew already) layered over the top. Here are a few choices I've narrowed it down to these.
This is my favorite one, but I'm a bit worried about the gathered waist:

I would definitely belt this one. Not sure how the longer top would look with a shorter cardi. I would definitely have to wear something over this, since I don't like to show my back:

This one looks dangerously like a uniform. Is there a way to make it chic?

This one I would layer a white cami under:

This is the basic option--a plain Texas tank that I would wear my white cardigan over:

So, if you all have any suggestions about how to accessorize this look, or additional colors that might go with burnt orange and white, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!
