I like the pink moto on you. Do you have someone that can help you judge the color IRL? The pink of the tshirt does seem to be off and the berry tshirt looks great so those colors are coming through on the camera OK. The vest looks great!

Well, I'm not a big pink person but that jacket looks fantastic on you! The cut and color look spectacular, but only you know whether you will embrace this color in your wardrobe or not.

Thanks so much, all. I am hoping for sunshine tomorrow morning, and I will get myself outdoors and see if I can get Mr. Suz's read on on it. He is not a huge fan of pink so that creates a bit of a bias. But he doesn't outright hate it, and I think if I show him the photos and compare the various pinks in my closet he will be as objective as anyone can be.

What I LIKE about the moto (what tempts me to keep it): it's a moto! I have wanted a moto styled item for a long time and most are too "tough" for me.

It's more like a knit jacket than a blazer. Very easy to wear, comfortable, low-key (apart from the colour, LOL.)

Fit is spot on. This is consistent for me with Zara jackets. They are super easy of me to wear off the rack.

The fabrication weight is perfect for our cool springs.

Do I NEED this? No, absolutely not. I just bought two fantastic jackets. and have no necessity for this item. Would it add fun and zip? Probably, but only if I feel good in the colour. Hmmm.

Thanks again - you've all raised excellent points and made good suggestions.

Suz: the moto is a lovely colour on you! I'd say KEEP!

I like that the color softens up the toughness of the moto style for you. This is a VERY different jacket from the ones you just purchased. Just sayin'.

Maybe some of my jacket shopping mojo rubbed off on you in Boston!

I think your skin positively glows with that jacket! You look so happy! I'm not good about colour analysis but my first impression is that your skin looks amazing from that jacket. Fit looks nice too

I love the cut and fit on you and truthfully the color but it is hard for me to assess color on my monitor. Waiting to hear from Mr. Suz.

My first thought was that the pink was just a touch too warm. Love everything about it otherwise, and I think the vest is great.

Great vest! I actually like the bulky but bold LE one, too, but, in your climate, 2 down vests would certainly not be overkill.

As for the jacket, it is an unusual shade of pink, but it is interesting, unique and very modern and perfect in its fit. I'm a "hot pink only" girl, but I find myself drawn to it. It doesn't seem too warm to my eye, but I'd want to make sure that the boldness of the pink makes you happy. Your recent purchases have leaned toward neutrals and deeper tones.

I've been looking at this jacket on line for quite some time and have thought that the pink looks like it has a warm base to it, but I was reserving judgement until I saw it IRL. I soooo want a pink jacket - and it's sooooo hard to be PPP! Let's see your pics in the natural light and then maybe we'll be able to give you a more definitive answer.

I really really adore you in the pink moto! Keep keep! it kind of strikes me as a 2014 version of your raspberry jacket.

not a huge fan of the best. Reads very LL Bean to me.

Well, the fit is perfect, and the style, too. My first reaction was that it's an unusual color for you. Colors are so tricky sometimes! However, in my experience, if I have any doubts in the first place, I don't end up wearing it much. How about you, Suz?

I like the way the pink moto makes your cheeks glow! But I am not a color expert. And I seem to like the pink in 1 more than pic 2. It all now depends on how you feel about it.

The vest of course fits well and should serve your purpose. That's a win for gear-esque wear

Suz, the jacket looks great on you. Lovely fit and great cut. For some reason I am wanting to see a softer pink. This is a deeper, stronger pink than I was expecting for some reason. I feel a softer, more blush tone, might be more versatile. However I may be swayed by having worn such strong tones in the 80's! I find it difficult to revisit where I have already been.

OMG, I love the pink moto on you. Please keep it! It makes your skin glow and the fit on you is divine!

Hmmmm. I think the shape and fit of the jacket look great and the pink really brightens you up. I kind of see what you mean about the shade, though. This may just be my thing, but it's also hard for me to look at a jacket in that very bright pink (especially one with that boucle-y texture) without seeing a kind of retro, lady-who-lunches vibe. And I could be wrong, but I feel like that's not a look you usually go for. Although there's always something to be said for trying something different, right?

And I vote keep for the vest! Looks like a nice combo of style and practicality.

I think the jacket is adorable but I see the differences in the colors once you posted the other pink and berry outfits. Although the jacket is cute and looks great compared to the others, possibly not the best color, but it depends on what it looks like in real life. You wouldn't want a closet orphan, but if you love it? Tough decision.

The vest is fashionable gear; great purchase!

I immediately liked the pink moto on you, but wondered if it was a touch warm for your wardrobe. So I can see both sides of the debate.

How does the pink jacket look with your taupe suit pants?

Joy - what a fabulous suggestion with the taupe pants!

Suz - I had to chime back in because I wanted to make sure you didn't misunderstand my previous comments. I think the jacket looks spectacular on you and you can definitely wear this shade of pink. It's beautiful with your coloring. My reservation stems from my concern on whether or not you will wear the jacket because of the color. But you look great in it

Shannon -- no worries!! If this were the right pink, I would wear it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately the light is bad here today -- I am waiting to show Mr. Suz and will report back when I can!

Joy -- this pink looks awful with the taupe. That is one of my clues that it might not be the right pink for me.

It is fine with navy, white, cream, and black. Looks okay with some but not all of my blues.

But with the taupe? Ugh. The taupe is sort of a "muddy" colour, I guess. I would not call the jacket a "clear" pink, exactly, but a "flat" one without depth, and somehow the two don't marry well.

Hmm, I haven't commented on the jacket yet because I don't trust my judgement when it comes to this color pink. It is very similar to that pink leather moto I got sent by accident the first time I tried to buy the turquoise moto. Angie and some others loved it but all I could see was PEPTO. I knew I wouldn't wear it. (Unlike, say, blush, which I love the look of but still am not 100% certain is flattering on me.)

FWIW, the fit is good and you do look pretty in the color, but... It sounds like you have a similar issue as me with the color. It doesn't sound like you want to wear it, you know? And while I'm all for stretching the fashion envelope sometimes, you've got to want to wear it first.

I keep checking back to see how you're feeling about this.

Pinks are tricky, and colors on a screen are not easy to evaluate, so I can see why you really need to consider this carefully.

Yesterday I stopped in a Marshall's for the first time in ages -- my goal was a bit of gift shopping, but I also took a spin through the clothing racks (I did have an unexpected success, which I will start a separate post about!). There was a really pretty sleeveless layered top that had a hint of a tulip shape (perhaps great for someone with a straighter figure than mine) and the color was a bright mid pink. Not bubble gum, but something just a hint cooler and lighter, perhaps, and there was something oddly appealing about it. It brought back a flash of some sort of memory to me -- I must have owned something this color at one point in my life, but I can't put my finger on what it was. Have you ever had that happen? At any rate, it seemed like a pink I could possibly wear happily, even though I recoil from anything bubblegummy or too sweet.

The vest is GREAT.

I also thought that the pink was a little warmer than what you would have typically gone for, Suz. But you've cooled it down really well wearing it with white - and ink or grey will do the same. I love it on you. Why not. It's a fun Zara piece that did not break the bank - and a fabulous colour vehicle. xo

Thanks for chiming in, Angie.

I have now put it past Mr. Suz. And guess what? He is no help whatsoever. He likes the jacket and "doesn't mind" the colour. He said he could see that another pink might be better....but he thought this one looked pretty good. (This surprised me since he isn't a huge fan of pink to begin with.)

He liked the vest okay, too, but he is worried it won't provide any real warmth. He has a point on that score. I may end up sending that whole Zara order back!

Well, still pondering, but I appreciate the input.

ETA: and I did something I almost never do and pulled out my colours "wallet" (from my pre-YLF colour analysis) and lo and behold, there is a pink swatch almost exactly like this jacket.

Mind you, I do not vouch for the quality/ precision of this wallet. I think of the colours more as "ball park" indicators. I honestly don't think the person who put it together has as much colour sense as I do. But, even so. It's pretty interesting.

The emotional reactions to pink are very interesting to me. I pretty much love all pinks, but I don't think that really started until I lived for awhile in India and traveled in Nepal. I think I started to think of pink as a strong and empowered color, a woman's color, and lost any previous Barbie/children's clothing associations.

I think also it can pair well with more austere, androgynous, harder edged clothing and balance it out a bit.

Ultimately you have to go with your gut I think.

Omg keep! I'm not a pink fan but that jacket is such a great wild card for you and you are glowing in it.

I hope you keep the jacket. It is a way as Angie said to introduce a new color. You look radiant in the jacket. So I vote keep.

I think amount of effort you put into this pink moto proves that you really like it - so why not? Maybe it is your wild card after the orange pants did not work out?
