Khaki Practice - YouLookFab Forum

Annagybe and Already Pretty's recent post about how to wear Khakis with style inspired me to drag mine out and play around using her tips.

1-2 With black, white and olive. I just got this jacket. I have been looking for quite awhile for one that fit properly. Is it a keeper? Also white blouse, black belt and my leopard print and silver studded Sam Edelmann flats.

3-4 With leopard accents and orange.

5 With stripes and dark accents.

6-7 She suggests weighty fabrics for your top half and mid to heavy-weight sweaters and cardigans. Also using chocolate brown, gray and white accents in the scarf. This looks a little dowdy to me but, hay, I'm practicing, right?

8 With denim. She suggests amping the chic factor by adding an interesting belt, scarf, bangles, necklace etc. I added bangles, mixed metal necklace and my leopard flats.

9 With black. I have this drape neck top from BR that is super comforable and I rather like this simple look with my chain link necklace and leopard flats.

How'd I do? Comments and suggestions always welcome.

1,3,5,and 9 are lovely but 8 is so so polished!!! Love this colours combo, and never thought khakis can do that!! thax for sharing!

I like #3 and #5 the best.

#8 and #9 are so Wow! Love them, so elegant. Also really like 4 and 5.

I like #5, #8 and #9 best. I'm not a big fan of khaki and olive together, it looks too 'safari' too me. But I really like it with the black, white and blue.

Number 5 is awesome. Fresh and modern in all the right ways. Love that top and the khakis are so versatile. Very polished but still casual.

My favorites are 5, 6, and 9. What about adding a necklace to 4? The orange is a great color on you and looks good with the khaki, just needs a little oomph.

Another vote for 3 and 5 here. Very sweet! This also is a vote for the jacket but I think you'll want to wear it with a touch flair (a la animal print) scarf. I could see loving it with something sparkly.

Thanks Alecia, I'm glad you responded to whether or not to keep the jacket, too late I already ripped off the tags. Good point about the scarf or other fun touch. I wore it with a colorful scarf today with autumn colors including olive green.

I'm not sure I will be sporting the khakis much In the future, this was a good exercise for me, either way. I like 5, 8 and 9 and might try those IRL.

I'm one of those who dislikes the look of khaki pants in general (seem so masculine on most) and feel for any woman who must wear these as part of a work uniform. However I like the crisp white shirt and belted look of #1 and would like it paired better with the blazer of #5 or cardi of #8. #5 and #8 also look great to my eye. Classic and crisp, you may yet make a believer out of me. Thank you for posting your inspiring outfits.

1, 5, 6, 8, 9 work for me. I especially like the khaki and grey pairings. Black isn't bad but it's a little stronger against khaki. Some nice outfits here!
