That slow super saver shipping was pretty darn fast this time! I won't risk my ankle yet so this is a one boot fashion show
I love the color and the heel isn't too high for me as far as I can tell with just one on, but . . . I don't know if they fit well enough in the calf. Obviously folded down isn't a problem, but once I go for the knee high look I start to wonder. At first glance with the skinnies it looks fine but you can see with the pinch how much space I have and the bare leg as well. It's very soft leather so it might start to slouch down on its own without a snug calf fit. But would that even be a bad thing? I don't know!

What say you? Keep or return?

Folded, they're great - a 10! But calf height they're too wide to my eye. So if you keep them for mid calf, great, and you can get snugger boots for knee high.....is that an option?

They're lovely, but I do think that they are too tall for you when they're unfolded - I think 1" or so beneath the knee is good, and these seem to hit you mid kneecap.

I voted nay based on the uncuffed look. If you only want to wear them cuffed then they are keepers.
Honestly, I"m not sure you would find a pair that would work both ways because of your slim calves.

I like them folded with pants. They look okay unfolded also but I prefer the folded look. Def. too wide folded with skirts though..

They're fantastic folded over! Unfolded they're just okay - you could probably do better.

Beautiful boots but they are too wide at the top. You deserve a pair of killer boots that will work with pants and skirts. Remember what Angie says--better to have one amazing pair than several mediocre ones. Hold out and I'm sure you'll find the perfect pair during the sales this time of year.

Sigh - I guess the endless boot hunt continues. But QM has a good point that maybe I can't ever get the 2 in 1 look with my calf size. With that in mind, I may have to debate whether it's worth wearing these only as foldovers. At $78 I could justify keeping these and looking for separate dedicated knee high's. Thanks for confirming what I desperately didn't want to believe everyone. lol (Or I could wear thick tube socks with all my skinnies hee hee)

Don't be so quick to return. I like boots higher up and it's the style now (so I'm disagreeing with Sarah on that one). I have slim calves as well and I have NEVER found a pair that fit properly, except a pair of stretch fabric ones I own. Do they even make boots for slim calves? I think they look great, I would keep. The fact that you weren't able to really style them I think is affecting how they look right now.

Were you planning on wearing them with pants mostly or dresses/skirts? This would also affect my decision.

Denise, I was planning on pants 90% of the time but if they won't work for skirts at all, that's okay. I kind of wasn't kidding about the thick socks to take up some of the slack! I also don't mind the mid knee height (as I commented, when I ordered them, on being almost OTK for me).
I have found stiff boots in this size hold up on their own and are okay. I just worry that these softer ones will slide down slowly into a scrunchy puddle around my ankles lol.
I just don't know.

Oh my word, I love these! If they are soft then they will be a little slouchy, and then the extra width is not such a problem. They look completely fine until you hold them with your hand, anyway. Please give them so more consideration and check out April's recent thread about boot heresy.

ETA: Also, virtually none of my boots work for pants and dresses except for the slouchy ones.

Mo, they look too tall to me unfolded. They are a beautiful color on you (I never even thought about boot color and hair before YLF). If they were a bit taller they could be OTK boots, but they seem to fall between that and knee-high.

I love them folded down, but I think your hope was that they'd be dual-purpose, right?

I vote keep for the folded boot look only. They are killer and very cool on you.

Am Ii going to be the only one that loves them both folded and unfolded. They look almost OTK unfolded and with skinnys they will look FAB both folded and unfolded!

Okay, Mo, I agree wtih Taylor - they may be better when you can stand properly and wear them as you intend. So I'm a wait and see, if you can still return them later.

Mo, a quick search on Google showed me these pictures, which suggest the boots do slouch - this might help the height issue sarah mentioned as well as the calf fit issue, as slouchy boots get more leeway.

Interesting to see some votes now swinging the other way. In all honestly, at this point I'm likely to keep them as foldovers, with the secret hope that I can try a few AT the knee (as opposed to OVER hee hee) looks. I really don't mind the height, it's the width I've gotten paranoid over. Maybe too paranoid, as we touched on in the heresy boot thread. The scrunchy possibility is a thought. I've never had slouchy boots before!

Malina, is it worth trying the Miss Mooz boots that Rae linked to? They are much more expensive, but if they do double duty might be better than 2 pairs??? What would you think about ordering for comparison?

Lynne, these are the exact ones Rae linke to! I just got a great deal My calves are 12 1/2" on a good week so it's just what I run into. As Denise pointed out, some of us have never had a snug boot and just make do best we can.
Aida, I thought of that originally when I ordered them but am thinking with the zipper it isn't going to lay right. The boots are upstairs and I'm down so in my condition it will be a while before I crawl back up to find out
I did take some quick measurements yesterday evening though - around opening when folded over is 13" and around the unfolded opening is 15 1/2". About halfway in between the two is 15". So for anyone with the more average calf I'd advise grabbing some off Amazon.

i too don't have boots that do double, both pants and skirts. it's a difficult thing to find...

I think these are ok worn both ways and will be even better worn full length when get slouchier. The color is just perfect with both your skin tone and hair. I vote keep.

I had to log on just to tell you I am cracking up with the thought of you taking photos while wrangling that walker!! But I have to also chime in about the boots because I think they look FAB folded over. Keep them! I think Kyle has a pair of OTK boots that work with her thin calves (someone correct me if I am wrong).
