Angie, I took your advice and bought some white jeans. They are True Religion brand, which always seems to fit me perfectly. They are straight leg (well, kind of skinnier than straight leg, but not a super tight skinny), and I got them hemmed to wear with flats. Just in case anyone else is on the search for white jeans, TR jeans are a really great investment. They are for me what Diesels are for Angie. I have a flat butt and very thin legs, and they have the perfect amount of stretch that they don't create the muffin top a lot of other jeans do for me (7FAMK, Paige, Lucky...). They are very pricy- they tend to run anywhere from $150-$250, but I promise so worth it.
One thing I'd also like to note - I always had the impression they would not be as flattering, or perhaps less forgiving than dark denim, but I was so wrong. It's really about the fit. I am confident in saying that I feel as good in them as I feel in my favorite pair of dark jeans. So, if that was your reason for holding off, don't.
Anyway, I have a few questions as to how to wear them.
1.) Is it harsh to wear them with a black top in the summer? For some reason, I have this notion in my head that black just doesn't work that well in the summer, so if this is true, someone please bring me to my senses. I should also note that I live in California and its very warm here, so it might just be staying cool thing.
2.) How do you keep the bottoms from getting dirty? I have hemmed them to wear with flats, but they still get a little dirty on the back. I would like to wear them more than once before putting them in the wash, so do you recommend just cleaning the bottoms and hanging them to dry?
3.) Are they strictly spring and summer attire, or can they transfer into the fall and winter? If they can, please inform me as to how to wear them so its appropriate for those seasons.
Thanks ladies. I really appreciate it. I hope you all get your pair of white jeans and are as happy with them as I am with mine.
