Angie, these pictures are brilliant. I love people-watching, too, and it's fascinating to see such diversity on the streets. It's refreshing, also, that jeans are worn less frequently.

I find it ironic that phones are getting bigger, coming, as I do, from the "house brick" generation.

thanks so much for sharing these street fashion photos! i also love seeing how people actually dress. i found the footwear observation similar to what you see in NYC, as well as the variety of fashion choices. i think big cities, especially those with a culture of socializing outside of the home, treat fashion was a way of declaring who they are.

Oh, I so enjoyed looking at all these photos and reading about what stood out for you fashion-wise. Such variety in people's outfits! The gentlemen in #1 and #7 are particularly stylish. I LOVE and WANT the ink and black outfit in #14.

Do I need my eyes tested, or is that a leopard print all over the tram in #6?

Travel is always refreshing and mind-opening in ways you'd never expect! Who'd think you'd come back with thoughts like "I should get the iPhone 6 Plus instead" or "I need to wear jeans less often"? But they are creative ideas and you'll have such fun making these tweaks.

P.S. I have the iPhone 6 Plus and Andy's iPhone 5S looks, well, Lilliputian to me now, LOL! It's amazing how quickly I adapted. I do not have a tablet, and often wondered if I should get one to compliment my laptop -- but now I feel no need for a tablet -- this phone is really about the same size an iPad Mini!

Wow... I need to watch Asian street style more, so much of this really resonates with me. Especially the floral pants with fuzzy sweater, and then the other floral pants with faux fur vest and heels.

So where does one go to keep up with this?? I love it!!!

Only 20% in jeans, wow! As a jeans gal, I would really stick out then. haha! The photos and recap are great, I adore people watching and this is a real treat.

Photos make me got o HK and people watch! So interesting and inspiring. I really love the way men in these photos dress.

Fun photos and I really enjoyed your succint analysis of the street style that you saw. It's so fascinating to read and see what people are wearing around the world.

I see lots of white clothing in these photos. I also love the colorful footwear and the men's styles! Your summary of street style is very interesting; it's easy to think that the way something is done in our corner of the world is the norm; I would enjoy some of the diversity and energy of Hong Kong here in my midwest city.

Awesome photos, as always!

Oh this is brilliant, thanks so much, Angie. I felt as if I was right there with you people watching, and I’ve been curious to hear more about what you thought of HK fashion on the streets.

I love it all, but what especially appeals is:
- The dressiness factor.
- The enormous variety in different styles.
- Fashionable flats and low-heeled shoes that are comfortable enough to walk in for hours. My goal is to only have footwear like that in my wardrobe.
- Less jeans. I am SO in the mood for trousers again. (high fiving you!)
- Hair being a big part of your style quotient.
- High fiving high-low style

I’m very excited for you to get the iPhone 6 Plus! We were talking about it when I was visiting, and the big screen really is such a bonus. And I love it that the fashion (and tech)-forward people helped you make your final decision.

Greg’s photos are such a treat!! And the city looks so vibrant and alive!
I loved seeing all the great examples of the men’s haircuts (fantastic!). I think 7 is my favourite picture, but they’re all fantastic. Such fun action shots.

This is armchair travel at its best:-)

Great photos - loved seeing them! I can see why HK is a place you would love to visit, it is definitely so full of interesting fashion sights. Thank you so much for sharing them.

I all makes sense. Nr. 5, 7 and 12 are my faves, nr 21 is an eye candy:-). Thanx for the effort making such a well constructed thread-it really would have made for a blog post, too!:-)

1, 14, and 25 are getting my juices flowing. Many thanks for sharing and bringing inspiration to my day! You are an immensely talented team!

Glad you enjoyed the wrap-up, ladies.

Rachy, Summer, Ann and Laura, I can’t WAIT to get my big iPhone 6 Plus. I never use my phone as a phone - only as a computer. So it makes sense that I want a big screen.

Shevia, your comments are always therapeutic. (Agreed. There is a natural grace to the street style of HK women).

Sveta and Inge, high five. YES.

kkards, a very interesting analogy.

Ruth M, YES. That’s a leopard printed tram. How fab is that.

tr3, you can get a sense of Hong Kong Street style here:

Oooh thanks for the links Angie!! I'm already enchanted by the first few things I saw

Love these Angie! Wow ... I love the silhouettes, colours and the fun hair Also, being mostly petite and with a skin that genetically ages less, I think they can pull off absolutely anything at any age. A blessing really

Greg's shots are among the best I have seen of street style shots! I am in love with the pic in which there is an animal print bus at the background! Even their buses are fancy

It's interesting to see the different styles in different countries of the world. While I live in a "big" city, I don't necessarily equate my city with fashionable places like NYC or Hong Kong. I wish it was more fashionable, but it is what it is.

Thanks for sharing the great photos.

It's a pleasure, ladies.

I WISH I lived in a more fashionable city too. Oh well. It is what it is. Seattle IS a great place to live.

Neel, LOVELY to see you again, and good observations.

What a fascinating street scene. I loved the variety of styles and silhouettes for both men and women. The best part of all is the lack of heels; that makes my feet happy!

Such amazingly diverse looks! You're right about some of the hairstyles being quite striking! With regards to the footwear, I wonder if a lot of the big fashion cities of the world are like that. For example, in London, most people commute by foot or on the Tube. However, London us much less hilly than HK!

wow! Great style! Love that they take risks with fashion!

Regarding the practical footwear - YES. People in the Netherlands also seldom wear high heels (because they often bike or walk everywhere), despite it being very flat. Lots of hills in HK though. You are right.

My impression is that the HK population is very well put together. Even when an outfit isn't "my style" I admire how it's been combined. The outfits look well balanced, the proportions are right. Even though you've fuzzed the faces I can tell there are a lot of attractive people in HK. A lot of good taste.

The men look amazing. I have noticed this in San Francisco as well. Of the 4 most memorable street style moments last week, 3 of them were men.

This has probably already been said (didn't read through the whole thread) but WOW Angie, now I understand where you get your sense of style! Every pic Greg took, I can see an Angie influence -- or I guess it's vice versa.

Thanks for the explanation about the Plus - my hands are way too small for one of those but I totally appreciate your explanation and it makes sense.

Denise, I'd say you are sensing right. It hits you quite strongly how well put together most people are in HK (women, men and kids) - in a crowded city of 7 million people to boot. Isn't it fun to see well turned out men on the street.

Shiny, I will take that as a compliment.

I've had my iPhone 6 Plus for almost two days - LOVE.

I also somehow missed this fabulous post! It's great to see photographs of what you were describing to me. Fabulous range of styles represented, for both men and women. Very expressive. #5 and #12 are particularly refreshing among the sea of dark neutrals. I've been on board with the less jeans thing for about two years now... but somehow still end up wearing them plenty

(Cheers to the new big phone ^^)

Practical footwear is giving me life. My intuition has always told me that I need to start with my shoe and dress around it. mmm
