First of a series of questions coming from me in the next few days. This forum is completely fantastic, but now all my perfectionist instincts have found an outlet and you poor guys are on the receiving end.

I'm the kind of person that tries not to change bags every day. I simply don't have time to keep fussing with it. Of course I'll change it up for certain occasions or if my every-day bag is just dead wrong with an outfit, but I do prefer to have a flexible bag that can go with me to the grocery store, to work or to dinner out. I've always thought a red bag would be fun for every day, so I bought this red patent one a couple of weeks ago. I know it's a nice shade of red, but I'm wondering if the shine of the patent makes it a bit too much for true day-to-day vercitility. My boyfriend, who wore nothing but beige and grey before I intervened, dismissed it as "too shiny," but obviously I needed some more enlightened opinions. If this looks obnoxiously bright or glossy, do just let me know and I can reserve it for occasions that call for a splash of colour:

Apologies for the old pic, but it served my purpose.
