Graduation Dress Update with shoes and pics

Thank you all for your suggestions in the previous thread ( http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....replies=16 ) about how to accessorise my graduation dress. I picked up some shoes and a skinny belt at the weekend that I think works with the dress.

Photo of the shoes and belt with the dress are here: http://adressandabike.wordpres.....s-round-2/

I need to pick up some sort of necklace or bracelet- maybe faux pearls as I can't afford the real deal. And I still need to get the dress shortened.

Any thoughts?

Looking good. Love the idea of a cream clutch- any chance of a close up of the shoes? At first i thought they were brown which seemed a bit 'heavy' then i noticed in your write up they are purple x

Such a beautiful dress. Faux pearls sound like the perfect touch.

Closeup of the shoes: http://adressandabike.files.wo.....c11803.jpg and http://adressandabike.files.wo.....c11802.jpg

The lighting in that blog photo was slightly atrocious. Sorry about that.

Dawn, that sounds awesome, and your shoes will definitely make a statement under your robe! I love the color of shoes & dress together.

A cream clutch sounds nice. I don't know whether this is something you're concerned about, but during my graduation I borrowed a small, flat crossbody purse from my mom that I could wear underneath my robes and keep just the bare essentials in. It was barely noticeable so I didn't have to worry about one more thing in my hands. Just an idea in case this is something on your mind.

I wore elastic waist shorts and a tank top to my graduation under my robes, along with an awesome pair of green leather slingback sandals. It was so hot I ended up unzipping the top of the robe and just letting my tank top straps hang out. I changed into a dress for the receptions, but you are way more put-together than I was. However, the shoes did get a good response. When we received our diplomas, our dean would lean over while shaking our hands and say something to us privately. When it was my turn, she turned her head and said, as her parting words to me after four years, "GREAT shoes."
