Four new purchases, need opinions!

So I promise this is the last post from me today! lol

I bought a bunch of stuff on sale today at NY&CO and wanted to get opinions...

1. brownish military style jacket (it's not meant to close):

I loved this on the hanger but now looking at the pics, I feel like this makes me look wider than I am...kind of boxy?

3. I'm trying to find the perfect length capri/crop for me as these are the same as the black ones I have (which are too long -- below calf).

My instincts say that the shorter length looks best, but I need more opinions!

Jacket - love the color but I think you are right about the fight - it does not seem right somehow.

Crops - I vote for two cuffs.

Cranberry top - great color!

Shorts - not sure they fit you properly either - try the other sizes since you are going back?

I like the cranberry top and shorts the best. I think the shorts are a great length, and they look very cute styled with the button-down and matching scarf.

I'm not that excited about the jacket; I don't think it flatters your figure. Maybe try a different top underneath?

I also vote for the shorter length on your pants.

Hi, planetamy. Here are my thoughts...

Jacket: I love the colour and the style of this, but agree with the others that it's not the most flattering shape.

Cranberry top: I love this colour, and the shape is great on you. I will say that it's probably a bit too short to wear with pants, but it could just be the way it's ruched up in the photo? Great skirt top, though.

Brown crops: I actually think both lengths work well on you (you've got great legs!), but the shorter one is probably a touch better.

Walk shorts: I agree that you could probably go down a size in these. However, I've got to agree with Anne on the length- they look a touch too short to me.

I will echo the sentiments of the other posters. I love the cranberry top and walking shorts. I do agree that the shorts could fit better - I think you thoughts of going down a size and sewing the pockets down is just the fix. I also think two cuffs on the brown pants is the way to do it.

I ended up taking the brown jacket and cranberry wrap top back. The style of the wrap top is flattering, but...the material feels cheap.

I was able to find the shorts in one size down. yay!

I'm still not sure which length (longer or shorter) to go with for the capris.

After reading everyone's comments, I was gonna go for the shorter version (and get them hemmed, not just roll them up). Then a friend of mine said that the longer version makes my legs look longer. So now I'm all confused again.

I'm no expert, but I disagree with your friend. To my eye, the shorter capris are much more flattering. Congrats on the shorts!

I'm going with susan. It's definitely more flattering with two cuffs (love it with the pumps!). The shorts are very cute too.

great finds! here's my two cents:

1. looks boxy - i'd pass.
2. cute, but i know what you mean about the material - cheap fabric can ruin an item for me!
3. i prefer the double cuff.
4. not great at this size - will you be posting pics of the smaller size?
