First pair of skinny jeans - for evaluation

Pre-YLF, I would not have touched a pair of skinny jeans with a 10 foot pole. :) Since joining this site, I have become more open-minded about different styles of fashion.

I was at Old Navy this weekend and tried on my first pair of skinny jeans. I went ahead and bought them to try them on at home. I am 5ft tall with an hourglass body type. I am totally new to the skinny jean, so I'm not sure if this style works for me

If they don't look good on me at all, I will return them. If the jeans look good, but the choice of tops is bad, then I'll keep them and try some different tops. Also, I tried them on with heels, but would they look good with flats too?

They look great! Is there any way to tack down the edge of the waistband past the button? It's poking out and making a bump.

But the jeans suit you and look fantastic!

You did great. The jeans look very nice on you. One question -- are they long enough? I don't think they are quite long enough for heels, though I love the look. Can you get them any longer to wear with heels?

i was wondering about the length too. i think they need a little more scrunch. but other than that, great fit :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm so excited to try out something new. :)

They are actually a "short" length, so I will take them back and see if I can find a regular length to wear with heels.

Ellen - I noticed the waistband as well. Since I'm planning on exchanging them for another pair, I'm going to check that when I try them on.

The skinnies fit really well Violet. I think the length is great. Well done for trying something new!

The tops are not stellar though. They are too clingy to be pulled over skinnies. Ideally, seeing the outline of your waistband and pockets should be prevented. Does that make sense?
