This happens from time to time, and most stylists are aware that sometimes it is just *not the right fit*....we can handle it, .....just be honest:)

Some women change up about every 5 years or so. Men seem to stay true blue forever. As uncomfortable as you may be with this... try not to be. She will understand and respect your decision:)

That's great to hear it from your perspective, taylor. I've been with this girl for three years and she's really fun. She admits that she's better with men's hair (and trust me, nobody can handle my husband's thick, straight, 'fro like she can), but I really want a stylist who's going to push me to try new things and be creative with my color and cuts. I'm also wanting to work with my natural texture, and that's something my current stylist doesn't really fit into.

Yes, this has happened to us. I switched salons entirely and my husband switched to another stylist at the same salon. BUT our former stylist still cuts my son's hair (he's 5) and I feel really bad because it's like we are saying that we only trust her with kids hair. We never said anything - we just stopped booking with her. For me at least, she did an O.K. job but I felt like she was a little too conservative for my taste. She does a great job with my son's hair though and I take him to her even though my new stylist would cut my son's hair for free (although I leave an enormous tip for her on the few occasions that she has done this).
