I am having a confused moment about this outfit.
Does it work?
with, shirt, necklace, leggings?
I like the skirt and am trying different tops and shoes.

I think it works, perhaps the volume of the skirt is throwing you off. I like the first shoes better.

I like the first pair of shoes. I wonder if the length of the skirt might be a bit long? I love the necklace.

The skirt comes to my knee, I probably would not shorten. I wonder if it would be better without leggings, maybe that makes it seem longer, or with a scoop neck top?

I'd love to see it with the scoop neck. I do think the leggings make it seem longer to me, although I'm not sure why. Honestly, though, I would never recommend taking my advice when it comes to proportions. I have a really, really hard time with spatial relationships (can't read maps, judge distances, judge portions without measuring, etc.)

I think you are on to something. I have 2 versions, one with scoop neck and one with a kind of polo neck, both without leggings:

I like the ensemble better SANS the leggings too. It's not the type of skirt that lends itself well to leggings. Skirts that look good with leggings need to be "more modern" and sculptured. This is a classic skirt. Does that make sense. Jean?

I was wondering why it wasn't looking right, makes perfect sense. Is the skirt classic because of it's shape? Do you have a preference for a top?

I like both tops- the scoop neck has a more casual feel, the other looks more businessy/dressed. Really cute skirt for summer and much better without the leggings.

I like it better without the leggings too. I like both tops, as Sinead said. I prefer the scoop a bit more, but that's just personal preference.

I agree with Angie...the leggings don't work with that skirt. It looks good with the ballet flats and the more casual scoop neck top. Oh and I love that you added the chunky red necklace...looks fab!!

I like the 4th photo you posted ... no leggings and the high neckline top. I think that one highlights your shoulders nicely.

I like it with leggings greenglove, but can imagine it'd also look great without as well. Ballet flats are my clear preference. Loving the necklace!!!!

The last photo - a higher neck top with the ballet flats and w/o leggings - fantastic. I see the proportional difference with and w/o leggings when you post like this. I still commend you for trying the leggings/skirt combo
