does anyone know if these 2 BR skirts fit differently?

I went to BR today and tried on this skirt which I really loved EXCEPT for the whiskering at the hips. I'm pretty sure that's not good for my body type...

I saw online that this skirt appears to not have whiskers but I think the fit is different - has anyone tried these both on and know if there's a difference? They didn't have this one in store for me to try on.

At this stage I am unsure about the difference in fit Julie, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Also, if the style without the whiskers does not fit as well, you could have it altered.

No, the whiskered one fits - but I thought it wouldn't be right because the whiskers hit right at my hips. Do you think it would work?

Actually, I meant have the style WITHOUT the whiskers altered if it doesn't fit. Hard to say about the whiskered style. My suggestion would be to go for a style without the whiskering.

I tried the second skirt (without whiskering) in OR. It's very nice and I'd say consistent with their sizing. It also comes in white denim. The store also had the whiskered one, but I haven't tried it. Probably not much help!

I have the first skirt from last year and like it altho I feel self conscious with my pear shaped lower half in a pencil skirt. What I did notice between the two is that first one is listed as about one inch longer.

I can't speak about the BR ones because BR is typically out of my current price range (sad face), but I tried this one on at the gap and it fit like a dream!! I plan to buy it when it goes on sale. (I am an hourglass with pear tendencies)

Julia, I bought the second BR skirt and saw the first one but didn't try it because of the whiskering. If you are between two sizes, I'd suggest going smaller. When I was wondering about this the clerk advised the smaller size and was right. Looking at the fabric content, I suspect the second one without whiskering is more stretchy (21% elasticine compared to 2% lycra).
I may return mine this weekend if the denim skirt at Nordies is a good fit. The BR fits very nicely but I'd prefer it to be an inch or so longer.
