I probably dress for three seasons. Summer is quite hot here and I don't wear much black at all I mostly wear lightweight fabrics and cotton if I can.I don't wear long pants or jeans.

For winter I change out short sleeve for long and wear jackets.

For Spring and Autumn I wear about the same which is getting out of shorts and into longer pants and jeans and transition from short sleeve t-shirts to long.

I live in a beach-side town so would never wear heavy colours like brown or burgundy except in the middle of a cold winter.

I use the temperatures as a guide to which capsule to dress from. We've had three days now with temps in the 60's and I've gone back to clothing from my late spring capsule. On the other hand, I just read that early September is going to bring the highest temperatures we've had in sixty years, so I expect I'll keep dressing from my summer capsule, even if the calendar says September. It's all about being flexible!

I dress for the temperature and don't try to push the seasons. I do wear a bit more color in the summer and it's about this time I start to wind down wearing my summer brights. (Similar to Lisa I have two throw pillows and a rug in the mud room I change in my house seasonally.)

My palette shifts seasonally, but doesn't entirely change. If it's hot, I wear more white, and it's been really hot this year. The days are noticeably shorter, and the light warmer, so I'm wanting more cream and taupe and grey. However, our temps are still high, so that means picking and choosing: my wine booties and bag are in rotation, but not yet my wine clothes; wearing lots of natural linen; only baseline black; feeling a little over ink and navy.

This may just be what's been drummed into me: my mother insisted that wardrobe colors had to change with the calendar, even if one had to keep to the previous season's fabrics to be comfortable. Looking forward to breaking out my linen sweaters in rust and wine after Labor Day. Thanks to YLF I might actually learn to keep wearing white past then!

I keep my summer clothes going for as long as possible, as our summers are relatively short here in the UK. We sometimes have some lovely sunny days in September and early October, but then things can change very abruptly. At that point, I start to trade some of my turquoise and lighter blues for purple and berry shades, and phase out the white.
So, yes, I take my lead from temperature rather than the calendar.

This is fascinating. I have always lived in the tropic /sub tropics. Temps under 20C see me pulling out jeans and boots, and generally a bit more black.
I don't think we have calendar -based fashion rules. Or maybe I am oblivious!
I go by temperature alone. The big stores change seasonal stock at frustratingly early times.

Temperature dictates everything. I actually ignore the seasons and focus on the real life climate.

I live in the middle of the United States (a suburb of Kansas City)so we have wild temp swings all 4 seasons.
I am like Celia in that I can wear different accent colors based on skin tone which changes season to season. My base neutral is denim. I focus on teal and burgandy in different weight fabrics from September thru November.
I grew up in coastal Florida so never paid attention to seasonal colors/clothing until I was dragged to the middle of the US (hahaha)

I like to dress in seasonal colors whenever possible, but the weather is wacky sometimes and can be warmer one day and cold the next. It's like it can't make up its mind which season it wants to be.
