Do these purple boots make me look stumpier?

I really liked Angie's outfit in the blog post today and tried to copy some of the elements with clothing in my closet. The only boots I have that sort of resemble the shape of Angie's are these purple ones. I bought them before I learned about the long lean leg line and generally only wear these under boot cuts...

This is what I wore today. What do you think? Are the boots horrifyingly unflattering? Do I look short and stumpy?

Obviously my outfit is no where near as exciting as Angie's, but I really like the cowl neck/patterned jacket combo.

No way Hosie do you look stumpy! Is that physically possible at 5ft 10". I'm loving the jacket and cowl neck combo.

Angie, the walks are going well... we've had a lot of rain lately but I've found walking in light rain surprisingly peaceful and refreshing.

You look beautiful I agree with AJ that the dark purple of the boots flows with the denim and still gives a nice long leg line. Very striking with the black cowl and jacket. Well done! (and inspired that you went to your closet and utllized what you already own to recreate the look !)

To me the dark color of the boots gives a long line with the dark color of the jeans too. You look beautiful as always! I LOVE this outfit.
RandJ I am laughing about you saying No way Hosie. Here in America we say, No way Jose. Jose is a Mexican name that is pronounced Ho-say, thus riming with 'no way'.
Are we saying the same thing in different dialect?

I have boots like that in white--actually even shorter, and they have been orphaned because the contrast between white boots and dark denim, or black leggings, is too much. I have long legs for my height but they still get chopped off awkwardly. But yours are dark so it works. I wish I bought those boots in black! They are so comfy I find it hard to get rid of them, even though I never wear them. Ah well.

agrace, the purse is an old Michael Kors that I bought while on a trip in Canada. I actually just sold it on Craigslist so it's gone. Unemployment stinks.
