Thanks Tanya....I prefer the Piperlime pair as well. But I didn't want to risk the other pair being sold out. Since they were so comfy, and fit so well, I figured I better grab them.
I'm so glad to hear you love the brown pair. I sometimes find myself second guessing my taste. I measured at the very top of the boot, and I got 16" all the way around. That was pretty much the widest part of the boot. The buckle on the side has 3 settings, and it looks like a functioning buckle. Since the boot has a loose pleat on the side, you could realistically tighten the buckle two notches and deepen the pleat. (Does that make sense?) They would definitely be boots to wear over jeans for you. I have not tried them on with jeans, but I could wear them with leggings.
Also, I got them at Marshalls for $100. They had a lot in stock, so if you were interested in saving some money, maybe we could figure something out. (Or you could check a Marshalls or TJ Maxxx near you--they usually carry the same stuff from store to store).
Maya, I saw a pair of boots there that you would LOVE. They reminded me of the La Canadienne boots that you like, with that rounded toe and spectator style, and the crunched granny heel. I think they were Steve Maddens, they were black leather, and they were only $40!! (at that price I thought they must be vinyl, but they weren't--I checked). I tried them on, but the calfs were too narrow for my left leg. I looked online for a pair, but couldn't find any. I wish I brought my camera.
Marshalls had about 10 different tall boots that I liked--some were suede though, so I ruled them out. One was patent leather, and I loved them, but I was afr the patent would limit me. I needed flat leather first, then I can think about patent leather next year.
