I finally embraced my inner hipster two years ago and bought my first plaid since middle school. And last year, I bought two more! They're constantly in rotation too...

Love plaid but till last year I had no solid tops except layering camisoles. No heels in my shoe closet!

As a card-carrying preppy, no matter how I may feel or how hard I fight, I'm not allowed to NOT have a plaid skirt and blue blazer ready to go... oh flashback to being marched to Nordstrom and the Scottish store... hehe

i love plaid, always have. There's something about how the colors blend that makes it soft and very wearable compared to hard checks which I can't do at all. I like gingham if done in pastels.

Stripes are difficult though. I don't have a single striped top I dont have issues with, and this doesn't even include the ones I rage-purged. It's so hard to find the right stripe pattern for your body with the right thickness and neckline and fabric. I'm still searching for the perfect breton stripe tee for me.

I confess to disliking paisley a lot. No rational explanation aside from it being way overused in boho clothing.

Lots of plaid. Lots of stripes. Lots of other patterns too. I'm a maximalist for sure.

You crack me up, Ruth!-)

I do adore plaid, currently have 4 plaid shirts, and wouldn't mind a 5th one if I could find one in more feminine and/or brighter colours that look flattering on me.

As far as stripes are concerned, its no secret on YLF that I just cannot get enough of them. I get extremely greedy when I see a stripe, and want to own all the striped tops in the world... (striped scarves, socks, shirts, jackets etc. are not safe around me either).

I have very little plaid or stripes. I like them on the rack, try them on, and they just don't look good on me. I do have other prints but not really a lot of those either.

I LOVE plaids, checks and tartan.

I think you need a plaid intervention, Ruth.

I bought a cozy plaid scarf at NAS for colder weather. I haven't found any shirts etc that are at least JFE to purchase.
I have one striped shirt that might not be JFE but was the best of the best.
And a much beloved cozy black infinity scarf with thin white stripes.
I do wear lots of mostly printed tops. Even my sweaters have cable prints.

No plaid. No animal prints. No florals. I would wear plaid. Not sure about the animal print. But I would never ever wear floral prints.

For some reason I like (and own) plaid skirts, but don't like (and won't own) paid shirts.
