Okay all you cat people. I am jealous. I see all your great kitty wear....but what about us...yes, you guessed it....dog moms. While your companion mammal of choice is looking adorable on bags, shoes (I am looking at your feet Rae), sweatshirt and sweaters, and oh that Equipment blouse (you know who you are) there I am in my breed specific fleece!! No fair guys!! We humbly concede dogs have family and cats have "staff" and clearly a better lobby...but we are asking for equal time. Dog mom's of the world unite!!!

OMG Amy - you are talking to a woman who has a small platter that says "no meal complete without dog hair" or something of that ilk but that is totally not calling to me and I have enough hair to carpet my home with (we do our own grooming) Too funny!!
Suz - there is plenty of doggy related clothing in pj's, fleece, t-shirts but what I don't see is the same upscale love - silk shirts, gorgeous bags and shoes. the elegant, quality pieces are difficult. you kitty people are getting the lion's share of this love!!
Hil- aren't you the best!! Thank you so much for looking!! Unfortunately if it's not black or gray it does not work for me but I so, so, so appreciate the input. But I want Rae's flats and the equipment shirt in the puppy variant!!

I bought this sweater from Anthro because I thought it would be cute with white jeans, but I returned it because my husband HATED it. He said it looked like a sweater a little old lady would wear to a holiday party.

Might be an option for someone not married to my husband, ha!

It's all about French Bull Dogs and Boston Terriers at the moment. Those lovely doggies are on lots of wardrobe items thanks to Marc Jacobs.

I have my crazy cat sweater yes, but I love doggies even bettern' cats! If they made a chihuahua sweater, it would be mine!

Why do feline motifs appear more frequently on higher-end items? Dogs have long been working animals. Most can be trained, are accessible, happy to be part of our pack. Cats are elusive, independent, mysterious, and stay still long enough to be drawn, painted, etched.

I'm a dog person with a penchant for men who favor cats. The one cat-fashion item I can imagine wearing, aside from logo recognizability, is Goyard's Sac Hardy in their new grey.

To Amy, on the dog hair yarn knits, those are super warm, but when they get wet they smell like a wet doggy.
I knitted some swatches in dog hair yarn, so I know about that.
I have some Birkies with a dog printed on them. If you want to see them I can post the picture but they are nowhere nearly as cute as those kitty shoes.

Alicat - you defintely need to take your husband to a dog show. After seeing those offerings he will beg you to buy the poodle sweater!!
Emily - that is a very cute sweater. I think we need that equipment kitty blouse in pups although if they did it in cute westies I would pounce!!
Angie - wow did not know that!! So there is hope for us! Stubbs and Wootton used the make the most adorable westie flats but not made any more. They do have a beagle but not my pup and not my colors.
Gillian Pearl - very cute. I am sure they look adorable on. I have a lot of casual dog stuff too, fleece, sweats. Nothing I would wear to work. I used to show and I have both real and costume jewelry. If you are interested in fine dog jewelry I recommend http://www.pamperedpawsjewelry.com/ I have a russian laquer pendant on mother of pearl and bracelets in 14k. He does sterling too and very nice to deal with.

Another dog lover who would like more doggy items, but being an old lady, I have to be careful. I'm not yet old enough to get away with wearing anything I like. I suspect part of the problem is that there are more sizes and shapes of dogs than cats so the dog item may not have as wide an appeal.

Joy - that's an interesting observation about more physical diversity in dogs. I had not thought of that. I agree we all have to be careful to keep it refined. Not an easy task but somehow the cat people are finding things that are fun and elegant!! Still pouting and saying "no fair!!"

I am definitely a doggy person (as evidenced by my doggy sweaters, I have two, one with Dalmatians and one with Poodles) - I don't like the connotation with "cat lady" - so I tend to stick to canine choices for my clothing. AND I HAVE A DOGGY DRESS.

I do have a giraffe and a blue flamingo dress ... wonder what those say about me.
