More love for the Trillium from me. Mine is my go-to outerwear when I need to be warm and protected from the elements. As far as being fashionable, I can't be much help, because freezing and shivering NEVER look attractive in my books. I'd rather look cosy and happy with rosy cheeks from the fresh air.

To my way of thinking, the Soia and Kyo coats are gorgeous, stylish, and totally practical if you are moving around in an urban environment using transit and frequently moving in and out of shops and offices. If you are going to be walking outside for periods of time with wind and freezing temps, it's hard to beat the warmth and protection of a Canada Goose parka. That hood alone can be a life-saver when conditions are brutal.

I have two puffers from Lands End, one cherry red and one more cranberry.

I lived in a very cold area but worked in a large city and felt my coats were not 'city' worthy, like I was the country cousin going to the big city.....then we had the coldest winter in years and decided I didn't care. Many people told me how much they loved my red coat. I was very warm, it was the warmest rated coat in their catalogue. And unless I go on a job interview or somewhere where a first impression is extremely important, I'm wearing it again this winter, every day. I also commute by train so warmth is important.

Lots of my coworkers wear the Canada goose jacket, probably in the hundreds (building holds 2000+)

wow...people are very committed to their puffers! thanks for everyone's feedback.

i plan to order a couple from s&k and from canada goose. although i have already been instructed by my "mom" also to get the uniqlo. i need to think about when i wished for a knee length puffer. that should guide whether i want a citified or a ex-urbanified coat. also, this winter is predicted to colder than normal though less snowy.

I think the Canada Goose parka line is one of the warmest you can get. Also MEC has a parka that is meant for northern wear. Both are too warm for me however my brother has one and he works as a pilot in Northern Canada.
Many women I know have the Kensington and are very warm and happy with it. It comes in some great colours. In terms of fashion - it is practical and when its cold that trumps everything - well at least here.

I have a Lole one (same as Suz). It has lasted for 5 years and is very warm. Lole has a nice styling. They are from Montreal after all. I am a big fan of Montreal.

Canada Goose is fashionable in Canada. Everyone in Montreal and Toronto walks around wearing their Canada Goose parkas with pride. They usually have Sorels on too.

Re: black: May I join my sigh to everybody else's?
There never seems to be any other color left in my size, especially for big pricey items like this.

I do have a white knee length puffer and although it is nice it is a bit shapeless and I end up looking akin to the Michelin Tire in it.
