Can we still wear pleated pants?

this might be a weird question, but are pleated wool dress pants OK to wear? Or is everything flat fronted now?

I know they are not the most flattering look, but it just seems they are a bit more dressy. But I wore this today - was I completely dated or can we still wear them?

Tapered and pleated trousers look really dated to me, I think they sabotage your look, you can do better to show of your figure!

I only like pleated pants when they are worn in a funky, artsy, hip sort of way...and on the right body type of course.

But the ones you are wearing don't do it for me. I don't think pleats are dressy, they are just poofy. To me it is the fabric and drape of the pants that determine the dressiness.

They also look short for those shoes?

My eyes!!!! The length of those pants are killing me :0(

Funky soft pleated pants with paper bag waist bands and tapered legs are HOT off the runway press and hip, hip, hip. I REALLY want a pair but all the styles I've tried on so far are too short.

That being said, the look I am speaking of is not to be confused with the 80's and 90's looks which are totally dated. I'm afraid SHS, your pants are very dated.

It's ok - you'll recover! Ditch those pants and pair that jacket with a knee-length skirt with some color and show us that. You have a great figure - no need to hide it in pleated pants

I've recovered! I would never do that SHS, so no worries.

I must also apologize. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I am just hyper sensitive to pant lengths (both too short and too long). Onto something better for lovely you

Angie, have you seen these ones on sale at ASOS. I really like them but alas they are dry clean only. The catwalk view gives the true colour and limits the shine factor (no big shiny bottom for me)

I love the idea of a peg leg, pleats and dressy Khaki all in one trouser.

SHS, you have fabulous style but your wardrobe will find a better more modern pair of pleated trousers.

Thanks, Angie. I've recovered too...i'm a Libra, so I am kind of sensitive.
You have given me permission (or I almost want to say instructions) to go dig through my closet and get rid of some old pants/suits that I didn't realize had gone out of style...
It's one of those "don't ask if you really don't want to know the answers" situation, and I know I'll be happier for it! So thanks again, YLF for getting me out of the '80s and '90s!!
