Bronze Handbag Help - YouLookFab Forum

Hi Everyone!

So, I bit the bullet today and went to Nordstrom and got a handbag! I'm pretty excited. It's the Susan Farber zipper ruffle bag that Angie posted on her ruffle blog (though I've had my eye on it since before that, just waiting for it to go on sale). It sold out online, but my store had 3 left--one in olive, one black one and a bronze colored one that I didn't ever see online. Anyway, I agonized over which color to get, bronze or black. I wished I could have pulled my phone out and called YLF for an opinion (Greg--can we add this service to the forum somehow? ;D ), and seriously contemplated calling Patience or Sarah to ask, but describing the color over the phone probably wouldn't have done any good. I'm horrible at making up my mind! Both sales people there saw me with both bags and instantly said bronze, and I actually liked that one better (the black was sort of "meh" for me). But I've never owned anything bronze, and now I have no idea what to wear it with, other than cream? It's a dark warm bronze. I've included photos:

Any help would be appreciated immensely! I'd hate to see this become a closet orphan--I really really like it.

That bag is fan-freaking-tastic. I am jealous! It actually seems very a neutral to me. I'd wear it with just about anything. I think it would be harder to think of what it wouldn't go with than what it would! I like the way it looks against your teal top.

I agree with everyone that your new bag is VERY neutral and will go just about everything. It's a very flat metallic, as far as metallics go.

I am just like you about making choices. I'm okay when I already own the pieces and have to try new things together. But when I'm in a store and I have to chose between two things (or more) I have a very hard time making the final choice. It's rare that I'm instantly drawn to one thing over another.

LOL@ your cave bear moment! The bag is so special and a great neutral color. I got bronze flats this summer that have become my most worn pair. The bronze really goes with anything except maybe another metallic, and even then it might work since it's not bright.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone! I've been holding it up to stuff in my closet, and it does go with most things, you all are right. It's brighter in natural light too, but not shiny (I just took it outside so I could ogle it in the sun, lol). I think it might even be okay with black, since it's not quite black, but metallic and textural. I'm going to experiment with it.

Thank you for the compliment Anne! That's my "Zoolander" pose. I saw the vest on a rack in The Limited (by the way, they have some really good, inexpensive stuff there right now) and I thought maybe it was a fur scarf, which might have been kind of neat, but then I pulled it off, and it was a vest. So then I had to put it on just to see what it looked like. I started laughing out loud (I may have scared some other customers standing there), and so then I thought I had to take a picture and post it here on YLF so other people could laugh along with me.

Oh, one more question--is this definitely a "Fall/Winter" bag, or is it something I can wear through the Spring (May)? I'm thinking it would work for Spring, but be a little too heavy and dark for Summer.
