Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Boot colour.. Your opinions and logic needed. :)

I have been searching for a super low, unchunky heeled boot.
Wanted something slouchy that could look dressy or casual.
It also needed to be adjustable at the top for my pinner calves.

I think I found it!

Now to choose the colour. Black is oh so practical, and this would be my only pair of boots. But I LOVE the gray.

My question is whether a black boot is actually more versatile than a gray... gray being a neutral, what could I wear the black with that I couldn't wear the gray with?

What would you do?
Thanks!

Peekay, my main pair of boots is grey, and I find that they are very versatile. I actually prefer them to black sometimes because I can wear them with a black dress and they really liven up the outfit. The one time I find I need black boots is when I am wearing a lot of grey in the outfit--the shades are rarely the same and it always looks off to wear the grey boots with a differently-shaded grey skirt, for example.

The other thing that I like about the grey boots is that I can easily wear them with brown outfits, and with navy blue, and that's something that I don't like doing with black boots (I know there are a lot of women on this site who love mixing their blacks and browns, and their blacks and navy/ink blues though, so that might be a personal preference).

Cute boots- and I agree with the others. Go for the gray!

Peekay, welcome! I think gray is just as versatile as black. You should go for it!

I have no black shoes. Actually, I have no black in my wardrobe but for two pairs of tights and a tank top for the gym.

Go for grey! Grey is great - goes with everything, and adds more texture with a black outfit than plain black boots.
