I went back to DSW to return those yellow pumps which I was so excited about. I came to my senses and realized they are never going to be walking shoes for me and even though they were $20, I could use those $20 towards something else.
To my surprise, the Blowfish booties were still where I last saw them, only I realized I must be colorblind because they are actually chocolate brown and not gray as I had remembered them. As most of you know, I do not wear brown, so I agonized it for a while but eventually decided to leave them even though they were $42. I want these to be spring booties and chocolate brown isn't very springy.
I also realized that these boots come in a very cowboyish, boho color palette, which is really troubling me. The only option that doesn't look that way is black, and I already have black booties (which aren't springy or suitable for bare legs anyway). My two best options seem to be natural and fawn. Natural is VERY light tan. I wish they were just cream instead. I am having a hard time describing what fawn is. It's like a stone color, halfway between brown and gray. I only wear white/cream, gray, and black boots, so none of these colors are technically a part of my color palette, but they are so comfortable that I want to make them work.
The major downside to the fawn is that only Zappos has it, and as usual, Zappos is disgustingly expensive compared to other stores. The natural is more widely available.

Or perhaps I should just let them go and focus on other options.
