Black leather in spring and summer

What do you thing of moto jackets in the spring and summer, is this something that can be worn all seasons? I am not sure, while in England last summer, they were everywhere, however the climate is a lot cooler and much less sunny. Any thoughts?

I will still be wearing mine this spring, but only until June, when we usually get too hot and/or humid for that sort of thing. But by mid-September, I'm sure I'll be pulling it out of the closet again.

I think in the spring it's fine. In summer it seems odd to me, but it also gets very hot here so it wouldn't be practical anyway. In a place like England where the weather isn't as warm or sunny, I don't think it's as big of a disconnect.

I agree, it depends on the climate you live in. Over here, I would wear them all year round (unless on those few days when it gets very hot, and even then I could probably use a jacket when it cools off at night;-)

Greenglove, in Seattle, I see people wearing black leather moto jackets even in warmer weather. But it rarely get's super hot here, and never humid. Did you ever find your perfect one you were looking for a while back (going to England...?) ?

I never did find the perfect one. I have thrifted a few here in the States but still want to eventually get one in England. I saw a few at the Portabella Market that I loved but they were too expensive for the shape they were in. They also have silver hardware and I really look better in gold. I do not think that an authentic one comes in gold. I may be out of luck. There is this great brand of biker jacket that comes from England and they have sizes that are really fitted and very cool.(I cannot remember the brand). We will be back in August so I will look again. I do think it is about climate, somehow the greyness of London works with black leather.

Absolutely. I'll wear my BLACK biker jackets all year. I’ll pair them with Summary things as we head for Spring and Summer though - like white bottoms, Spring colours and lighter fabric weights.

It's tough when you know what you are looking for and you can't quite find it. I just got this leather jacket and I love it!!...I watched it go down and down in price, then it wasn't available at all....then one night, I checked it again, and there was my size!...it must have been a return

I thought of you when I just saw this one today...it's not black but it does have gold: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/29.....rchresults It says it's only in size large, but maybe calling customer service they could locate one in a store for you...? There are such great deals right now on leather jackets...and Nordstrom's is so good at returns if it doesn't work. Ioved the link you put up for All Saints (?) not too long ago, too.

I actually ordered that same jacket in the fall in black, would have loved it in brown. It fit well but the leather was too soft, I wanted a more durable leather and the snaps had really obvious large writing that said guess on every one. I didn't like that part at all but loved the style. All Saints is great but their shipping to the states is not cheap, I might look there this summer also. Thanks for the link , you spotted what I do love. Do you know what I mean about the snaps? I wonder if that would bother anyone else?

yublocka...yes, there are so many "droolworthy" leather jackets lately...!

GG, about the Guess logo rivets on the jacket, I guess it depends how noticable they are vs. how much I would love the fit and the cut...? Sometimes we are the only one that is noticing those tiny details on our clothes, but if it bugs you, it does, right? I zoomed in on the photo and they didn't seem so bad, but in person of course is another story. The brown would look great on you with your coloring I thought.

Another yes to black leather jackets in the warm weather. I especially like to wear mine in the evening over a floaty printed summer dress, the contrast is really nice.

I plan to ditto Angie if the faux motorcycle jacket I ordered last week works out. I love the look of a tough black moto jacket with a springy floral dress.
