Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Ask Angie: Would these be classified as "clams"??

I have been reading all the posts about clams and they seem to be a summer must have... but I am unsure about what exactly is clam length. I have picked up a pair of these in a dark denim.

Do you think they would work?

These look like they are between clams and walk shorts and look like they would be perfectly appropriate and cute for the summer. To me the difference between clams and walk shorts is that the clams skim the knee a little more like skinny jeans do.
The length of clams seems to depend on what a persons perfect skirt length is. Some people are having them hemmed or rolling up the hem to the length desired. I leave mine as they were purchased and they hit me just under the knee, sort of like peddle pushers.

Here's Angie's blog post about the difference between walk shorts and capris:

where she has photos of clamdiggers, culottes and bermudas as examples of walk shorts. Basically they should fall on or above the widest part of your calf. So your pants look like a great length, whatever they be called!
