Is it possible to still look fab while breast feeding?

I'm trying to find great looks that still work with breast feeding and that won't break my bank!

I love to be in style, wear a casual friday look every day if possible, look polished, and still look my age [23]. I will take what I can get though, I just want to look good while breastfeeding.

Any suggestions?

I'm a nursing mama and I just go for it when it comes to clothes except I generally do avoid dresses. (And no you don't have to break the bank just like you don't if you weren't breastfeeding.) I don't use nursing wear except for a good nursing bra and a bella band to cover up my belly in public when I lift my shirt. What I find works for me are tops that are easy to pull up from the bottom. Then I can also use the shirt for coverage. Jackets and cardigans are also good for style and are easy access. Shoes and bottoms don't affect your ability to nurse as long as they are comfortable so I go really cute there (but comfortable) and a large but good looking (not baby) bag. The bag actually doesn't have to be that big because you don't need to carry bottles. I do pay attention to fabrics to make sure drips and any baby gunk will come out in the wash. I don't know how old your child is but for young babies, I carried lots of burp clothes for clean up. I do work part time and this is the time (also when I go out with my husband) when I try to wear those things that are not easy access like dresses or things that I don't want stained. Then when I come home, I just change into *stylish* lounge wear. With kids, you just have to accept the fact that you are going to get stuff on your clothing. I figure you can either look unstylish and have stains or look fab and have stains and anything you can do to feel good about yourself is going to make you a better mama. My son is getting older so I think I'm going to try wrap dresses this spring and summer.

Also remember that prints will camoflage stains/wet spots better than solids.

I breast fed two babies...and found it most comfortable to wear loose button down shirts. I found it much more discreet and comfortable to unbutton a few buttons then to lift my shirt up.

I nursed two babies and I plan on nursing this one (I'm pregnant with #3), and the tops that I found that worked the best at first for me are nursing tanks under buttoned shirts. In the winter I loved wearing cute hoodies/jackets over tanks. Later I could wear just about anything since I stay at home and didn't have to worry about people seeing me nurse. I agree with the above poster...Pick some buttoned shirts that have a pattern to avoid obvious leaking/spit up showing at first. Cheap tees from Old Navy and Target are awesome to wear when dealing with little ones. You can dress them up with accessories, and toss them if they get too stained.
Personally, I never liked any other "nursing wear." They felt too bulky and matronly. Although, I have friends that swear by them! It's whatever feels right to you. Hope this helps!
